1994 and we are growing ……. - Hundreds of members - Home counties wide - Multiple sports So let’s build a bigger Clubhouse …….. Project ‘95 Launched to raise £194,000 in one year ………
Project ‘95 - Led by (Action, Action, Action) Harry Purchase Raised £330,000 in 2 years • Project launch 1994 • Multiple Lottery Grants • Huge corporate support • 1st sod cut on 15th November 1995 May 1996 HRH Prince Philip opens our Clubhouse extension
Our (growing) national reputation …….. 1997 – WAMDSAD wins ‘Best Sports Club in the UK’ Award (DSE) 2001 - Runners-Up position in the Sports Club of the Year Award (CCPR, all amateur UK clubs) 2003 – we raise £15,000 for the British Paralympic Association to help GB athletes get to Athens Paralympics
Helping others as we help ourselves …. 2003 – Charity Ball raises £15,000 for the British Paralympic Association to help GB athletes get to Athens Paralympics 2005 – Celebrity Golf Event with Tim & Christine Brooke-Taylor for Relate 2008 – Charity Ball with Wooden Spoon …. and countless other major events for our Club All led by our star fundraiser Hilary O’Rourke
Our Amazing Paralympians!• 46 member appearances for GB • In every Paralympics since we were formed! • Medalled in all bar 1
Still our Clubhouse grows …. Now a Sports Centre 2004 – we build a Garage for our new Minibus – thank you, Lease Products! 2006 – 2nd Sports Hall opened. Thanks to The Louis Baylis Trust, ACT Foundation, The Wooden Spoon Society and The Shanly Foundation A growing complement of part-time staff …….
