MAIN ACTIVITIES Technical consultancy to the public administration. Project developer. To introduce new, more efficient technologies into the market and incorporate mature technologies into the Spanish market. Dissemination activities. Negotiation of co-operation agreements with industrial sectors for the uptake of RES/RUE. Participation in the design of national Research, Development & Innovation Programme. Participation in the management and promotion of EU programmes and participation in international networks. MAINSTAYS OF THE SPANISH ENERGY POLICY From 2011 onwards Future cornerstones of the Spanish energy policy (in accordance with the European binding targets and lines of action to achieve those objectives): Sustainable Economy Act (Law 2/2011) (entry into force on 6th March 2011): Defines a sustainable growth model for the Spanish economy. Sets national targets for 2020 in accordance with European objectives in renewable energy: 20% share in Gross Final Energy Consumption and 10% in Transport. Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energies Act (Current status: Bill expected to be passed in Parliament in the upcoming months) . It will specify the necessary measures aimed at the achievement of the objectives set out in the Sustainable Economy Act. Key components: Guaranteeing security of energy supply, Reduction of greenhouse gas emissions and Support for renewable energies.
