With over 25 years’ experience in the Portable building industry, PBNZ provide a quality building to meet
customer needs across New Zealand. PBNZ provides high quality buildings, delivered nationwide with a high
level of customer service.

A New Zealand owned company, Portable Buildings New Zealand (PBNZ) is a company that prides itself on
quality modern buildings with unique features and old-fashioned personal service. Our staff and contractors
have a wealth of experience in constructing and relocating portable buildings from small toilet units to large
office complexes.

This is a multi-facet role in a fast-paced organisation and requires someone who can transition from strategic
business planning to being involved in the workshop operations in order to meet client needs. This role
requires someone who is a real doer! Sound like you?

About the opportunity
Reporting to the Managing Director, the Operations Manager will play an essential role in working directly with
clients to identify solutions for their business needs and delivering outcomes. Relationship management is a
key facet of this role and a passion to genuinely make a positive impact for our clients is essential in making
this role a success. In this role the Operations Manager will:

     ⋅     Provide a leadership and management function at PBNZ
     ⋅     Improve operations output in terms of process, productivity, resources, quality, and customer
           demands.
     ⋅     Develop and maintain enduring relationships with key stakeholders
     ⋅     Take a hands-on approach to the day-to-day activities at PBNZ
     ⋅     Oversee and regularly review operational business models to ensure they are fit for purpose and
           support a streamlined process
     ⋅     Identify and provide innovative solutions for PBNZ clients

About you
To be successful in this role, you will be able to demonstrate your substantial operations management
experience preferably within a related industry or from the logistics or transport industry. You will be a solid
performer with strong technical knowledge of operations coupled with exceptional relationship management
ability.

Your collaborative approach to leadership means you truly value the essence of teamwork. This is both a
leadership and hands-on role – you will be action-oriented, with a belief that leadership means leading from

Role purpose, expectations and values

The purpose of the Operations Manager is to provide leadership to Portable Buildings New Zealand
(PBNZ) by working with internal and external stakeholders to develop and maintain essential working
relationships and to ensure business continuity and a sustainable future.
The Operations Manager is accountable for overseeing all operations of the business, as well as
taking a hands-on approach to the day-to-day management at PBNZ.

This is a key position within the company, and it is expected that the Operations Manager maintains a
high level of professionalism and integrity, displays a positive attitude and team focus, and be
enquiring and articulate.
