Introduction to the Options Appraisal
                             Process
What is an Options Appraisal?

 Structured process to decide on the best way forward
 Balances a range of factors – housing, social, health &
wellbeing, local environment, economic, planning, community
    and financial & deliverability
 Typically tests 5-6 options, against a “do nothing” or “business
    as usual” base case
 Needs to take enough time to consider issues thoroughly but
also give people certainty on a decision / conclusion date
 Carried out in line with government and GLA guidance
 Intended only to indicate the best broad option; this will then
need to be worked up in detail in conjunction with local
    people
