FISHER HOUSE
Unfortunately, due to social distancing requirements, it is not possible to use
Fisher House spontaneously as it would be in a normal term. But Fisher
House is available to all members to use for pre-booked events. See below for
a list of existing groups. Please get in touch with Paul Norris (pn303) if you
are interested in starting a new one.

The Fisher House Library will be closed as a study space until further notice,
but email Paul if you would like to borrow a book.

ALTAR SERVERS are those wishing to help serve at chaplaincy Masses – no

APOLOGIA – TUESDAY TALKS ON THE CATHOLIC FAITH every
    Tuesday at 7.00pm. Zoom details will be posted on the Facebook group
    each week.

THE BENSON CLUB meets every week on Thursday, alternating between a
    creative writing workshop and a discussion of Catholic literature.

THE CATHOLIC SOCIAL TEACHING GROUP looks at Papal encyclicals
    and documents to discuss how our faith can inspire responsibility and
    work for a more just society. Contact Julia Wdowin (jw735).

THE CHAPEL (ENGLISH MASS) CHOIR sings at the 10.30am Mass on
    Sundays in Full Term. It practises on Sunday mornings. New members
    always welcome. Contact Chris Hamilton (ch792).

THE CAMBRIDGE STUDENT CHRISTIAN MOVEMENT is an inclusive,
    ecumenical Christian community, meeting on Sunday evenings at
    8.00pm. Contact Sarah Critchley (sac211).

THE COMPANIONS OF THE ORDER OF MALTA support the charitable
    work of the Order of Malta, through volunteering and prayer. Contact
    Krzysztof Herka (kh650).

COSTA (CONFRATERNITY OF ST THOMAS AQUINAS) is a social and
    religious group for Catholics from South East Asia, meeting online at
    12 noon on Sundays. Contact Clara-Ann Cheng (cac213).

THE DOCTRINAL FORMATION GROUP meets to give an overview of the
    Catholic Faith, guided by Frank Sheed's Theology and Sanity. It meets
    online at 8.00pm on Sundays. Contact Fr Robert (rwv1001).
THE DOLPHINS are the all-conquering Fisher House football team.
    Training to resume when social distancing guidance allows. Contact

THE ECUMENISM AND INTERFAITH GROUP hosts talks about, and
    encounters with, other denominations and faiths. Contact Nikhil Antony

FISHER FRIENDS is for Senior Members and other non-student friends of
    Fisher House, to arrange meetings, outings, and community. Contact

THE GRADUATE SOCIETY meets fortnightly online for social events and

THE HADDOCS is a group for Catholic medics, and those interested in
    medical ethics, meeting at 7.30pm on alternate Wednesdays. Contact

THE POST-DOC SOCIETY is for postdocs, young professionals and young
    families. Meets for informal spiritual and social events (currently all
    virtual). Monthly post-Mass lunch every second Sunday of the month.
    Weekly scripture reading and discussion at 7.00pm on Wednesdays.

THE PRO-LIFE GROUP discusses and promotes protection of all life.

THE SCHOLA CANTORUM sings Gregorian chant and polyphony at Latin

THE SOCIETY OF ST VINCENT DE PAUL (SVP) supports those in need
    in the local community through charitable works and prayer. Contact

THE SUMMA THEOLOGIAE GROUP provides a gentle introduction to
    Thomas Aquinas' Summa Theologiae. It meets online at 8.00pm on

THE FISHER SOCIETY COMMITTEE
The Fisher Society comprises all Catholic members of the University of
Cambridge. It promotes the spiritual, cultural and social interests of its
members by running events through term for all the undergraduates,
graduates and senior members resident in Cambridge.

CUCA was founded in 1899 for the specific purpose of providing a home for
the chaplaincy. It owns and maintains Fisher House, and its membership
consists of all past and present Catholic members of the University of
Cambridge. CUCA’s Council meetings take place each term attended by the
Chaplains and the Chairman, Vice-Chairman, Treasurer and Secretary of the
Fisher Society.
