As hard as that may be, I must say we have done an incredible job. Although our classes are strictly online, we can interact, work together, and learn as Pajama and Stuffed Animal Day! a group. Some of the things that help us stay connected and create a sense of community are greetings and goodbyes, show & tell, class jobs, group projects, sharing work, pajama day, and hat day. These things also help with social/emotional development, a significant concern with virtual settings. By doing these things, we encourage taking turns, responsibility, and social skills. We understand the importance of social interaction and we can incorporate this into our virtual preschool program. Although students have class online, they are not just staring at a screen.
