California Waterfowl Hunt Program 2019-2020 Rice Blind Hunt Details Sutter Bypass: (Capacity 4 hunters, one hunter must be a junior, veteran, or woman). Located North of Robbins, inside the Sutter Bypass. The blind is 6 mile southeast of Sutter National Wildlife Refuge. The blind is equipped with blind stools, Gibson covers, and around 10 dozen duck and goose decoys! The hunt winner is able to bring a total of three additional hunters. Hunters will have the blind for the entire shoot day. There is a 1/3 mile walk to the blind. Hunt Details: • There is a lockbox attached to the backside of the no trespassing sign. The key is in the box. Type in the code, 1937, to open the lockbox. MAKE SURE TO CLOSE GATE BEHIND YOU AND PUT KEY BACK! • Hunting is restricted to waterfowl only • No overnight camping or fires allowed • Must hunt from designed blind • Place CWA Hunt Program hunter card in windshield of each vehicle present • Hunters are responsible for adhering to all State of California Department of Fish and Wildlife regulations • Go under the bridge, back north until you see a white parking sign. About 1/10 of a mile after leaving pavement. • Do not drive around the property, stay in designated parking area. • No ATV’s • Head East from the parking lot and you will see a white duck marker-this is the dike to your blind, walk north to blind. • Hunters may hunt all day • Decoys will be left out each hunt day
• Keep dogs and guns locked up in your vehicle until ready to leave for blinds in the morning. Dogs should be kept on a leash until you reach your hunting blind What to Expect: • Four man tank and swivel seats • Goose and duck decoys • Try not to stomp down vegetation around the blind • The field is mowed, so please walk in the field if you can (not required). • Securely put blind lids back on blind after the hunt • All trash and empty shell casings need to be picked up- Please leave the blind better than you found it • We will be keeping a hunt log, so please make sure you record your groups’ harvest What to bring • You may bring your own wind duck or Moto duck (starting December 1st). • Recommended: All hunting gear, including valid 2019-20 hunting license, CA Duck stamp, Federal Duck stamp, HIP Stamp, ear and eye protection, steel ammunition, gun, floating gun case, waders, camouflage jacket, hat, gloves, bug spray, food/drinks, and warm clothes.
