Welcome from our Principal Tonight's quiz, organised by the Parents’ Association (PA), provides an opportunity to raise funds for the school but it's also a night for the school community to meet and socialise. We are extremely fortunate to have such an active and supportive PA. A huge amount of planning and work goes into this event each year. Your participation and attendance on the night helps contribute to the success it has become. The PA organises social events for the children and their families. It provides funding for classroom equipment and furniture and for school trips to Fighting Words and the local library. It also funds shows during Arts Week, Seachtain na Gaeilge and Science Week. This year in March, the PA invited Dr. Gillian Lake from D.C.U. to speak to parents about the value of play and the important role it plays in the teaching of young children. In May, Julie Dowd from the Child Abuse Prevention Programme introduced parents to the Stay Safe Programme. We would like to thank you all for your continued support over the last year. It was a great year in terms of participation and fundraising. I hope you all thoroughly enjoy tonight’s quiz. Ádh mór oraibh go léir. Dearbhla O’Driscoll
Welcome from our PA On behalf of the Parents’ Association (PA), we would like to say a big thank you to all the parents, sponsors and local community for supporting our annual Table Quiz. The money that was raised last year has been used to purchase new school equipment to enhance the school’s Learning Through Play approach and provide extra- curricular activities for the girls. The PA is an important channel of communication between parents and the school. If you would like to get involved by volunteering, please email pa@belgrove.ie or come along to our monthly meetings which take place on the first Monday of every month. A full list of all purchases and activities funded by the PA, our full calendar of activities and further information are available on www.belgrove.ie/parents-association. Thank you for your continued support.
