“BEHIND THE LAUGHS” COMEDY PANEL NEW GIRL (Tuesdays 9:00-9:30 PM ET/PT) The Emmy Award-nominated ensemble comedy centers on a free-spirited young woman, her four male roommates and her female best friend, as they navigate modern relationships and form a charmingly dysfunctional – or strangely functional – family. Cast includes Zooey Deschanel as JESS, Jake Johnson as NICK, Max Greenfield as SCHMIDT, Lamorne Morris as WINSTON, Hannah Simone as CECE and Damon Wayans, Jr. as COACH. THE MINDY PROJECT (Tuesdays, 9:30-10:00 PM ET/PT) A single-camera comedy that follows a skilled OB/GYN navigating the tricky waters of both her personal and professional life, as she pursues her dreams of becoming the perfect woman and finding the perfect relationship and getting her perfect romantic comedy ending. Created, executive-produced by and starring Mindy Kaling. Cast also includes Chris Messina as DANNY CASTELLANO, Ed Weeks as JEREMY REED, Ike Barinholtz as MORGAN TOOKERS, Beth Grant as BEVERLY and Xosha Roquemore as TAMRA. BOB’S BURGERS (Sundays, 7:30-8:00 PM ET/PT) Recently nominated for its third Emmy Award in the category of Outstanding Animated Program, the series follows the daily life of a working class man, Bob, and his ever-quirky family who together run the restaurant Bob’s Burgers. Voice cast includes H. Jon Benjamin as BOB BELCHER, John Roberts as LINDA BELCHER, Kristen Schaal as LOUISE BELCHER, Eugene Mirman as GENE BELCHER, Dan Mintz as TINA BELCHER and Larry Murphy as UNCLE TEDDY. THE SIMPSONS (Sundays, 8:00-8:30 PM ET/PT) An animated comedy series about a blue-collar family – and the longest-running scripted series in television history. Celebrating its 25th anniversary, THE SIMPSONS recently reached its milestone 550th episode. Among its honors: a Peabody Award, 28 Emmy Awards, 29 Annie Awards, five Genesis Awards and seven Environmental Media Awards. Voice cast includes Dan Castellaneta as HOMER SIMPSON, Julie Kavner as MARGE SIMPSON, Nancy Cartwright as BART SIMPSON and Yeardley Smith as LISA SIMPSON. The series won this year’s Golden Globe Awards for Best Television Series – Comedy or Musical and Best Performance by an Actor in a Television Series – Comedy or Musical (Andy Samberg), and recently earned an Emmy Award nomination for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series (Andre Braugher). FAMILY GUY (Sundays, 9:00-9:30 PM ET/PT) A subversive animated comedy that presents the everyday trials and tribulations of family life, but with a distinctive twist and irreverent slant. The beloved series has racked up numerous awards, including an Emmy Award nomination for Outstanding Comedy Series, only the second animated series in television history to be honored with such a distinction. Series creator and lead voice actor Seth MacFarlane (voice of BRIAN GRIFFIN, PETER GRIFFIN and STEWIE GRIFFIN) just received a 2014 Emmy Award nomination for Outstanding Voice-Over Performance. Other voice cast members include Alex Borstein as LOIS GRIFFIN, Seth Green as CHRIS GRIFFIN and Mila Kunis as MEG GRIFFIN. THE LAST MAN ON EARTH (2015) A comedy about the life and adventures of the last man on earth, PHIL MILLER (Will Forte). An average guy, Miller has a small kernel of hope that somewhere out there is another survivor. And if that survivor happened to be a woman, that would be especially welcome. -FOX-
“BEHIND THE LAUGHS” COMEDY PANEL ELIZABETH MERIWETHER (Creator/Executive Producer/Writer, NEW GIRL) Since NEW GIRL’s debut, Elizabeth Meriwether has emerged as a fresh new voice in TV comedy. The single-camera series has received a Golden Globe Award nomination for Best Television Series – Comedy or Musical, a Writers Guild Award nomination for Outstanding Achievement in Television – New Series, a Critics’ Choice Television Award in the category of Best Comedy Series and a Television Critics Association Award in the category of Outstanding New Program. Meriwether wrote the feature film comedy “No Strings Attached,” starring Natalie Portman and Ashton Kutcher, and directed by Ivan Reitman. It was her first screenplay, and was ranked in the Top 10 of the Black List, the annual list of Hollywood’s most-liked (and at the time, unproduced) screenplays. Meriwether was also named one of the Top Screenwriters to Watch by Variety in 2009. In addition to her screenwriting, Meriwether also has written several Off-Broadway plays, including “The Mistakes Madeline Made,” “Oliver Parker!” and “Heddatron,” a robot version of Ibsen’s “Hedda Gabler.” A native of Ann Arbor, MI, Meriwether resides in Los Angeles. MINDY KALING (Dr. Mindy Lahiri; Creator/Executive Producer, THE MINDY PROJECT) Emmy Award-nominated Mindy Kaling is an actor, writer, producer and director. Prior to THE MINDY PROJECT, Kaling starred as “Kelly Kapoor” on the Emmy Award- winning comedy “The Office.” Initially hired in 2004 as a writer and performer for the American version of the British cult hit, she wrote 23 episodes of the series, including “Niagara,” which scored her an Emmy nod. She also won multiple Writers Guild of America Awards, Television Critics Association Awards and Screen Actors Guild Awards. -more-

(And Other Concerns).” A collection of comic essays detailing moments from Kaling’s own life, the book was featured on the New York Times Best Sellers list, as well as USA Today’s Best- Selling Books list. Her next book, “Why Not Me?,” is set to hit stands next year. Kaling was featured in the summer 2013 hit “This is the End.” She made her film debut as the object of Paul Rudd’s unwanted affections in the Judd Apatow-directed comedy “The 40- Year-Old Virgin.” She also will lend her voice to the upcoming animated film “Inside Out,” which is scheduled for release in 2015. Kaling has graced the covers of Entertainment Weekly, Elle and Parade magazine. She was twice featured on Rolling Stone’s Hot List: once in 2007 as Hot Hyphenate, for writing and acting on “The Office”; and again in 2009 for Hot Network Hope. Also in 2009, she was featured as one of Variety’s 10 Screenwriters to Watch. In 2012, she was named one of Time magazine's Most 100 Influential People in the World. In 2013, Kaling, along with THE MINDY PROJECT’s creative staff, was nominated for a Writers Guild Award for Best New Series for THE MINDY PROJECT. LOREN BOUCHARD (Creator/Executive Producer/Writer, BOB’S BURGERS) Loren Bouchard began his career as an editor, writer, producer and director on the animated series “Dr. Katz, Professional Therapist.” During its six-season run, the show earned multiple awards, including two CableACE Awards, an Emmy Award and a Peabody Award. Bouchard co-created, executive-produced and directed four seasons of the animated series “Home Movies,” created “Lucy: The Daughter of the Devil” and worked on “Science Court.” In addition to creating and executive-producing BOB’S BURGERS, Bouchard serves as a writer and a composer on the series. Born in New York City and raised in Massachusetts, Bouchard has lived in and produced animation in Boston, New York, San Francisco and Los Angeles. He is a married father of two who currently calls Los Angeles home. -more-
“BEHIND THE LAUGHS” BIOS – Page 3 AL JEAN (Executive Producer, THE SIMPSONS) Emmy Award-winning producer/writer Al Jean has worked on THE SIMPSONS since it became a series in 1989. He has a credit on more than 500 episodes and been showrunner for more than 300. In addition to eight Emmy Awards, he has won the coveted Peabody Award and was nominated for two Golden Globes. Currently, he serves as executive producer and showrunner. He also served as writer and producer on “The Simpsons Movie” (which took in more than $525 million worldwide), working heavily on the film throughout its entire four-year production and was producer and writer on the Academy Award-nominated short film “The Longest Daycare.” Jean co-created “The Critic” and “Teen Angel” and served as producer of “It’s Garry Shandling’s Show,” for which he won three CableACE Awards. Other television credits include “The PJ’s,” “Alf” and “The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson.” Episodes of THE SIMPSONS that Jean has written or co-written include “Moaning Lisa,” “The Way We Was,” “Treehouse of Horror II & III,” “Stark Raving Dad,” “Simpsoncalifragilisticexpiala (annoyed grunt) cious,” “Hello Gutter, Hello Fadder,” “Day of the Jackanapes” and the Emmy Award-winning “HOMR.” Jean also co-wrote Funny or Die’s “SNL Presidential Reunion Video,” which is credited with helping establish the Consumer Financial Protection Agency. A graduate of Harvard University, Jean served as vice president of the college’s humor magazine, “The Harvard Lampoon.” He lives in Los Angeles. DAN GOOR (Co-Creator/Co-Writer/ Executive Producer, BROOKLYN NINE-NINE) Dan Goor is an executive producer on the critically acclaimed comedy “Parks and Recreation.” Prior to BROOKLYN NINE-NINE, he also was a writer and director on the series. -more-
“BEHIND THE LAUGHS” BIOS – Page 4 Goor is a graduate of Harvard University, where he and writing partner Michael Schur first met. He got his start writing for “The Daily Show with Jon Stewart,” for which he won an Emmy Award in 2001. He also won an Emmy Award in 2007 for his work on “Late Night with Conan O’Brien.” Goor resides in Los Angeles with his wife, Purvi, and their two daughters, Zoe and Mila. MICHAEL SCHUR (Co-Creator/Co-Writer/ Executive Producer, BROOKLYN NINE-NINE) Michael Schur is co-creator and executive producer of the critically acclaimed comedy “Parks and Recreation.” Prior to “Parks,” he spent four years as a writer-producer on the Emmy Award-winning hit “The Office,” during which time he was nominated individually for two Emmy Awards for writing the episodes “Christmas Party” and “The Negotiation.” His first TV writing job was for “Saturday Night Live,” on which he spent seven seasons, including three as the producer of “Weekend Update” with Tina Fey and Jimmy Fallon. Fans of “The Office” may also know him as “Dwight Schrute’s” ghoulish, bearded, beet-farming cousin, “Mose Schrute.” Schur currently lives in Los Angeles with his wife, J.J. Philbin, and their two children. RICH APPEL (Executive Producer/Showrunner, FAMILY GUY) Born in Wilmette, IL, Rich Appel is a graduate of Harvard College and Harvard Law School. He worked as a federal prosecutor in New York before joining the writing staff of THE SIMPSONS, where he eventually rose through the ranks to co-executive producer. He served in the same capacity on “The Bernie Mac Show,” and was an executive producer of “King of the Hill,” AMERICAN DAD and “A.U.S.A.,” which he created. He also was the co-creator and executive producer of “The Cleveland Show.” He has received three Emmy Awards. Appel lives in Los Angeles. -more-
“BEHIND THE LAUGHS” BIOS – Page 5 STEVE CALLAGHAN (Executive Producer/Showrunner, FAMILY GUY) Steve Callaghan has worked on FAMILY GUY since its inception. He is the author of “Family Guy: Stewie’s Guide to World Domination” and “Family Guy: The Official Episode Guide, Seasons 1-3.” He also has worked as a writer and producer on a variety of television shows, such as “3-South,” “Yes, Dear” and AMERICAN DAD, the latter on which he served as executive producer/showrunner. He has been nominated twice for an Emmy Award, including a nomination for Outstanding Comedy Series in 2009. Callaghan lives in Los Angeles. WILL FORTE (Phil Miller; Creator/ Executive Producer, THE LAST MAN ON EARTH) Will Forte has established himself as one of the most versatile actors in film and television. He spent eight seasons making audiences laugh on “Saturday Night Live, and recently starred in Alexander Payne’s Academy Award- and Golden Globe-nominated film, “Nebraska.” For his role as “David Grant,” Forte was nominated for an Independent Spirit Award in the Best Supporting Male category and he won the National Board of Review's Best Supporting Actor Award. Forte will next be seen in “Life of Crime,” based on Elmore Leonard’s novel “The Switch.” He co-stars opposite Jennifer Aniston, John Hawkes, Tim Robbins and Isla Fisher. In addition, he has wrapped production on Peter Bogdanovich’s “Squirrels to the Nuts,” opposite Jennifer Aniston and Owen Wilson. Forte previously starred in “Run and Jump,” which debuted at the Tribeca Film Festival last year and won the Best Irish Feature Award at the Galway Film Festival. He also is known for his role in the feature film adaptation of “MacGruber.” In addition to starring in the lead role, he co-wrote the script with Jorma Taccone and John Solomon. Other film credits include comedies “That’s My Boy,” opposite Adam Sandler and Andy Samberg, and “The Watch,” opposite Ben Stiller, Jonah Hill and Vince Vaughn. He also lent his voice to the hit animated film, “Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs” and the sequel, “Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs 2.” Additionally, he wrote and starred in the feature “The Brothers Solomon,” opposite Will Arnett and Kristen Wiig. -more-

His work on “30 Rock” earned him a 2013 Primetime Emmy nomination in the Guest Actor category. He also has had roles on “How I Met Your Mother,” “Parks and Recreation,” “Up All Night,” “Tim and Eric Awesome Show, Great Job!” and “Flight of the Conchords.” He is a frequent guest on “Conan,” portraying a crazed Ted Turner. Additionally, he has lent his voice to a handful of animated series, including FOX’s “Allen Gregory”; “The Cleveland Show,” from creator Seth McFarlane; and “Sit Down, Shut Up,” from creator Mitch Hurwitz. Forte came to “Saturday Night Live” from Los Angeles’ improv-sketch theater “The Groundlings,” where “SNL” alum Will Ferrell, Phil Hartman and Maya Rudolph got their respective starts. Forte has a great deal of experience behind the camera, serving as producer on “That 70’s Show” and as story editor for “3rd Rock from the Sun” and “Action,” as well as working as a writer for “Late Show with David Letterman” and the “MTV Movie Awards.” Forte currently resides in Los Angeles. -FOX-
