Conditions Of Warranty
1. The warranty starts from the date of purchase
2. Alexander Rose requires proof of purchase.
3. Alexander Rose must be notified of any defect and given the opportunity to remedy it; any remedial work carried out by a
third party will invalidate any warranty.
4. The product has not been misused or handled carelessly and has not been wilfully damaged, neglected or used in
abnormal conditions.
5. The product has not been modified, altered or transformed in any way.
6. The cost of transportation of goods to be repaired or exchanged is covered for mainland UK only and only for the first year.
7. Appropriate maintenance must be carried out in accordance with Alexander Rose care instructions. Alexander Rose will
not be responsible for any defects due to the application of any treatment product other than Alexander Rose recommended
products.
8. The warranty does not apply to usual wear and tear, meaning dents or scratches or normal deterioration that is received
by regular use. It does not cover any deterioration due to the usual weathering process such as fading, cracking and splitting.
9. If a product has to be replaced and that particular product is no longer available Alexander Rose reserve the right to use an
alternative similar product.
Our General Care and Important information for your Wood Furniture
Garden furniture is designed to withstand a wide range of weather conditions, from scorching sun to ice and snow. However, from time to
time, certain items will need a little extra care to get them through certain periods. To help keep your furniture looking and feeling fresh,
please follow our short and easy guide below.
Weathering occurs over a period of time, and you can expect to see changes in the timber after a few days/weeks. Timber is a natural
material, it absorbs moisture in wet conditions and is likely to expand. In dry conditions the timber dries and may shrink a small amount. As
the material moves, surface cracks can appear in the timber. You can maintain the appearance of your furniture by lightly sanding down
the timber and applying a timber treatment/protector care product and if needed use wood fillers. Always start with a light cleaning,
sweeping surfaces as needed with a soft brush or cloth. Then assess if further care and cleaning is needed. When it comes to cleaning
products for outdoor furniture, non-detergent liquid soap (think dish soap) is best or a timber cleaner product. For tougher stains and
mildew, use water and white vinegar .Bird droppings should be cleaned off your furniture as soon as possible. They can be particularly
damaging and cause permanent stains.
Consider covering your furniture when not in use for long periods of time (and during long durations of bad weather). Even if it can stand up
to the elements, cleaning will extend its life and make maintenance easier after the outdoor season begins again. Use breathable covers to
avoid creating a mould incubator.

Our General Care and Important information for your Wood Furniture
Garden furniture is designed to withstand a wide range of weather conditions, from scorching sun to ice and snow. However, from time to
time, certain items will need a little extra care to get them through certain periods. To help keep your furniture looking and feeling fresh,
please follow our short and easy guide below.

the timber takes longer to grow, which makes it denser and enhances the finished product making for strong,

Our General Care and Important information for your Wood Furniture
Garden furniture is designed to withstand a wide range of weather conditions, from scorching sun to ice and snow. However, from time to
time, certain items will need a little extra care to get them through certain periods. To help keep your furniture looking and feeling fresh,
please follow our short and easy guide below.
Weathering occurs over a period of time, and you can expect to see changes in the timber after a few days/weeks. Timber is a natural
material, it absorbs moisture in wet conditions and is likely to expand. In dry conditions the timber dries and may shrink a small amount. As
the material moves, surface cracks can appear in the timber. You can maintain the appearance of your furniture by lightly sanding down
the timber and applying a timber treatment/protector care product and if needed use wood fillers. Always start with a light cleaning,
sweeping surfaces as needed with a soft brush or cloth. Then assess if further care and cleaning is needed. When it comes to cleaning
products for outdoor furniture, non-detergent liquid soap (think dish soap) is best or a timber cleaner product. For tougher stains and
mildew, use water and white vinegar .Bird droppings should be cleaned off your furniture as soon as possible. They can be particularly
damaging and cause permanent stains.
Consider covering your furniture when not in use for long periods of time (and during long durations of bad weather). Even if it can stand up
to the elements, cleaning will extend its life and make maintenance easier after the outdoor season begins again. Use breathable covers to
avoid creating a mould incubator.

About Forest Garden
Part of the Forest Garden Group, Forest Sawmill based in Lockerbie is the
UK’s largest purpose-built shed and fencing mill.

The sawmill is located close to the UK’s main forestry plantations and
enables us to quickly process harvested timber. The sawmill produces the
components needed to manufacture our products. It specialises in
processing raw timber into fencing slats, timber boards used in sheds,
battens, featheredge timber and fence posts.
Warranty Information :
Forest products are guaranteed against rot through
either Pressure Treatment or Dip Treatment
Forest Pressure Treated items which are designed to be
in ground contact are impregnated with preservative, an
effective method used to protect wood against fungal
decay and insect attack, saving time and money on
retreating. The treatment is based on the well-
established effectiveness of copper combined with a co-
biocide. If the treated timber is cut, notched or drilled it
is recommended that an effective cut end treatment be
applied, failure to do so may reduce effectiveness of the
Pressure Treatment. Stains, paint and water repellent
may be applied after purchase providing you follow the
manufacturer’s instructions.
Dip Treated products should be isolated from the
ground with a Pressure Treated gravel board or
similar base and be retreated yearly to comply with
the conditions of the guarantee. To change the colour
of the timber, allow the product to mature before
applying a suitable brand of stain/paint.
