Dear participants,
You, your family and friends are welcome to Ayia Napa Triathlon 2019.
Nireas Triathlon along with many collaborators and volunteers are more than happy to welcome
you in the beautiful town of Ayia Napa.
Ayia Napa Triathlon, now in its 6th edition has set new standards of a high-quality triathlon
event on the island. Our goal is to take it even higher.
Every year our main concern is to offer a bit of more spice to the athletes’ and spectators’
experience. We strongly believe that this year too it will be unforgettable as ever.
We would like to thank the Ayia Napa Municipality, the Cyprus Tourism Organisation and Nissi
Beach Resort, as well as all our sponsors for their trust and support in making this event come
true.
During this competition you will love swimming in emerald crystal clear water of Nissi Bay,
cycle through the iconic Natural Park of Cavo Greco and run in a more diverse running course
than ever.
The racing experience is enriched with many side events for you, your family and friends. We
take all of our participants and fans very seriously, making their visit to our island an equally
exciting experience.
Being ourselves athletes for many years we acknowledge every minute of struggle you have
put to bring you here.
You are the real stars, and this is your time to shine. Play fairly with safety always first in mind.

GREETING FROM AYIA NAPA’S MAYOR
Welcome to our beautiful town, Ayia Napa
On behalf of the Municipal Council and our citizens, I would like
to welcome you to our city which is known worldwide as one
of the greatest and famous tourist resorts of Cyprus and the
Eastern Mediterranean.
It is an honor for us and pleasure to host once again for a sixth time this important event,
which year by year is growing in number, considering the fact that in 2018 400 athletes from
30 European countries took part – most of them are coming from Russia, United Kingdom and
Greece – and we strongly believe that in 2019 the number of 600 athletes will be exceeded.
The Ayia Napa Triathlon offers a suitable challenge to every participant through swimming,
cycling and running to experience the crystal waters and golden sunny beach of Nissi area, the
beauties of Cape Greco National Park and other town’s landmarks. It is a pleasure for us to see
so many people meeting in Ayia Napa to share their enthusiasm and passion for Triathlon. We
are very excited to have you and your supporters here for this renowned athletic event. Please
allow me to congratulate the organizers for their choice and all the athletes who are taking
part.
Ayia Napa is a beautiful destination with friendly people who will make this event a unique
experience for all participants. Whatever your interests are Ayia Napa has something to offer
so if you have free time visit our Medieval Monastery at the centre of the town, the «Sculpture
Park», the «Mediterranean Plant Cacti and Succulent Park», on the way to Cape Greco, the
«Τοmbs of Makronisos», the Municipal Museum «Thalassa”, the «Celebrity Square», «The Love
Bridge», Sculpture «I Love Ayia Napa» etc. We are confident you will find your stay here truly
memorable.
For those of you who are visiting Ayia Napa for the first time you’ll find the town a welcoming
place and we guarantee you that you just might not want to leave or you will want to come

Difficulty rate: 1 Points of interest: The Sea Caves - Agioi Anargyroi Trail is located on the cape of Cape Gkreko, within the
National Forest Park, which is a Natura 2000 area. A big part of the route runs parallel to the shoreline. From

Mammals: Fox, hare, hedgehog.
Birds: Kestler, partridge, Cyprus warbler (endemic), Cyprus wheatear (endemic). The National Cape Gkreko
Forest Park serves as a resting point for many migratory birds. Reptiles: Cyprus viper, Cyprus lizard, Cyprus
chameleon, Black whip snake.

This excursion does the round from Agia Napa to Xylofagou and comes back along the Xylofagou - Agia Napa & Ιάκωβοσ Κακουρήσ

The route begins at the little harbour of Agia Napa and climbs towards the north until it reaches the traffic 16:00 - 17:00
lights where it turns leſt and to the west, going along the bicycle path on the leſt hand side of the road. It then
goes past Makronisos on the dirt road that leads to the Agia Thekla chapel and the fishing shelter by the
Potamos Liopetriou.
Heading south it goes round Cape Pyla, until it reaches the Xylofagou Medieval Tower. From there it takes a
northern course to reach the outskirts of Xylofagou and turns right and to the east taking the Xylofagou - Agia ΠΑΝΙΚΟΣ ΘΕΟΔΟΣΙΟΥ
