Hayley Menzies’ fashion training began in the London College of Fashion where she studied design and styling. Her career took a
meandering route through London’s wild rave scene to running a nightlife business, via yoga training in Thailand. It was in these
years as a rock n’rolling stone that Hayley’s unique aesthetic took shape.
In 2011, Hayley Menzies set up a stall in Portobello Market selling vintage fashion and handmade recycled fur scarves. Her sharp
edits amassed a fast and loyal following of stylish women who inspired Hayley to set up her own brand. Through intuition and
passion Hayley conceptualised her brand, a contemporary womenswear brand made for life’s refined rebels.
Hayley Menzies is now stocked in over 100 stores in 17 countries worldwide.THE COLLECTIONS
The spirit of Portobello resides in each and every Hayley Menzies piece. It’s a huntergatherer style, rich with references picked up at
vintage stalls, travels to Goa or house parties that never end. Every collection conjures up a different fantasy and is meticulously
pieced together using the finest fabrics. Hayley hand sketches each print and works with herself as a fit model to develop new silhouettes
each season, expertly blending influences and ideas to create pieces that are as fresh and unique as the women who wear them.
At Hayley Menzies we have an uncompromising approach to the quality of materials used and the finish of each garment, and this is what
ultimately defines the long-lasting appeal of our collections.
THE VALUES
We believe in the importance of sustainable practice. We stand for high quality products which are made to endure the adventures of our
customers. The craft and fabrics of our collections are of utmost importance to us. All of our design development is done here in
West London. We carefully source our knitwear yarns in Italy: from wool to lurex, everything is personally chosen by Hayley in Florence and
is of the highest standard. We then work with a mother-and-daughter run factory in Romania to produce the pieces.
Our silks are developed, printed and produced in the UK and pieced together in a family-run factory in Bulgaria. We know the people who
make our beautiful pieces – this is integral to the Hayley Menzies ethic. We are constantly working on new ways to reduce our footprint
and believe that our choices should have positive effect on the people, elements and the surrounding
