Vintage Star special edition blanket
We have collaborated with the team at Nant
Gwrtheyrn to create an exclusive blanket for
them based on the subtle colours of sky, sea
and rock in this amazing corner of North
West Wales
The blankets are woven from pure New Wool
and are both beautiful and practical,
hardwearing and easy to care for.
30% of the proceeds of all our retail sales in
this colourway in our Vintage Star design
will be donated to help support the amazing
work done by this charity.

Welcome A tradition still in the making….
Croeso Melin Tregwynt is a small whitewashed woollen
mill hidden away in a remote wooded valley on
the Pembrokeshire coast.
There has been a mill on this site since the 17th
Century, when local farmers would bring their
fleeces to be spun into yarn and woven into
sturdy Welsh wool blankets.
Today we find our yarns from further afield but
the legacy of Welsh double cloth weaving is still
handed down from generation to generation and
weaving continues in the same mill building.
The history of weaving is recorded here in an
unbroken line right back to 1841, and the mill has
now been owned by the same family since 1912.
Over 30 people work here creating fabrics which
are useful, beautiful to look at and just a little bit
special
Traddodiad sy’n parhau ….
Melin fechan, wyngalchog yw Melin Tregwynt ac
mae’n swatio mewn cwm coediog, anghysbell ar
arfordir Penfro.
Bu melin ar y safle hwn ers yr 17eg Ganrif, a bryd
hynny byddai ffermwyr lleol yn dod â’u cnuau i’w
nyddu yn edafedd a’u gwehyddu yn garthenni o
wlân Cymreig.
Heddiw, mae ein hedafedd yn teithio ymhellach
i’n cyrraedd, ond caiff y traddodiad Cymreig o
wehyddu brethyn dwbl ei drosglwyddo o
genhedlaeth i genhedlaeth o hyd, ac mae’r
gwehyddu’n parhau yn yr un felin.
Yma, cofnodir hanes gwehyddu mewn llinell
ddi-dor sy’n ymestyn yn ôl i 1841, ac mae’r felin
wedi bod yn yr un teulu ers 1912. Mae dros 30 o
bobl yn gweithio yma, i greu ffabrigau sy’n
ddefnyddiol, yn hardd ac ychydig bach yn
arbennig

13Welsh Doublecloth is a traditional weave deeply
rooted in Welsh folk history. Every mill had its
Doublecloth own special design. One of the most striking
effects is the reversible nature of the cloth and
Brethyn Dwbl you can use both sides. The designs you see
here are all unique to us.

Gwlan Mynydd Cambrian
We are delighted to be involved with the Cambrian Mountains Wool CIC to
develop premium wool from Welsh Mule sheep found on specific upland
farms into a fine worsted weaving yarn. This is a fantastic opportunity to
return to the roots of Welsh weaving; combining locally sourced yarn with
beautiful design to create a uniquely Welsh product for our customers.
The fabrics shown here are suitable for both Fashion, Footwear, and Contract
Interiors, and all the fabrics are available from stock.

Our family company has been weaving here Yma ym Melin Tregwynt yn Sir Benfro, mae
at Tregwynt Mill in Pembrokeshire, West ein cwmni teuluol wedi bod yn gwehyddu
Wales for one hundred years. Henry Griffiths ers can mlynedd. Prynodd Henry Griffiths
bought Melin Tregwynt in 1912 for £760 and Felin Tregwynt ym 1912 am £760 ac yna
then moved there with his young wife Esther. symudodd yno gyda’i wraig ifanc Esther.
Their two sons were Benjamin and Howard. Eu dau fab oedd Benjamin a Howard. Roedd
Howard and his wife Eluned ran the mill from Howard a’i wraig Eluned yn rhedeg y felin o’r
the 1950s 1950au.
Their son Eifion and his wife Amanda have Mae eu fab Eifion ac Amanda ei wraig wedi
been running the Mill since 1986. The skills bod yn rhedeg y Felin ers 1986. Sgiliau’r staff,
and knowledge of all their staff, both past a’u gwybodaeth, nawr ac yn y gorffennol,
and present, keep the tradition of Welsh sy’n cadw traddodiad gwehyddu Cymreig
weaving alive at Melin Tregwynt. yn fyw ym Melin Tregwynt.
