Autumn Prospectus 2021 Office of the Chief Information Officer (OoCIO) 2021 Welcome and Foreword Dear Colleagues, The Coronavirus has drastically reshaped our home and work lives, our healthcare system and our economy. Since its rapid spread around the globe, we have experienced monumental shifts in how we work, where we work, and the technologies we use to stay connected. The recent cyber-attack has had further far-reaching implications on our health service. The scale and intensity of the attack has cost us hundreds of hours work on detecting, neutralising, and recovering. Despite these unprecedented, relentless challenges and significant transition for us all. OoCIO staff have continued to dig deep and ride out these storms. I believe this is OoCIO’s moment to help lead our organisation in navigating the future. We have a tremendous opportunity, and responsibility, to provide our HSE colleagues with guidance on the skills and capabilities they will need to be successful over the next decade as new technologies and roles continue to emerge. Such massive change is escalating the importance of developing strong management and leadership skills. It is also imperative that we build on our relationships by seizing opportunities to avail of networking opportunities and to learn from each other. As the landscape continues to evolve, learning and work have become more integrated. Our Autumn 2021 suite of training programmes have been developed with just this in mind and designed to provide opportunities for upskilling while empowering OoCIO staff to future-proof and adapt with the changing needs in Irelands healthcare.
