Schedule and Timelines Thursday, 03.09. 18:00 – 19:30 Athletes’ race package distribution ITU Office in SIH -Seminarraum in Hamburg- Mexikoring 15, 22297 Hamburg • Medical certificate signed by a doctor and the PCR test results will be collected at that time. • Make sure that you have field in the pre-event questionnaire before coming. • The use of mask is mandatory. • Body temperature and oxygen saturation level checks will be performed before entering the building. • Please respect the countries’ registration slot (see Athletes’ Guide) Your race package includes: Helmet stickers (3x) / Bike sticker (1x) Body decals (4x) – both arms and both legs

Entrance to the venue • There is one entrance to the venue • Only accredited persons can have access • Body temperature check at the entrance. Any athlete/ coach with body temperature higher than 38 oC will be moved to a waiting tent to meet the ITU MD. • Use of mask is mandatory (except during warm up and competition for the athletes). • After the temperature check all athletes/ coaches will get a specific color of sticker on their accreditation/ wristband. Everyone will be able to go in and out the venue without being re-checked. • Change of coaches’ wristbands between races within an NF is possible - 2nd/ 3rd coach must be registered before
Moving between Finish and Start/ Transition zone • Athletes can use the FOP from moving from the Athletes’ Lounge to the Transition Zone for checking in. • Coaches/ Team Medical must use the path at the north side of the lake (next to the run course)
Check-in – Athletes Lounge ● Keep your mask on ● Disinfect your hands before entering the tent ● One way flow within the tent ● All checks will be visual ● Uniform & race gear check – photos taken of each uniform ● Wearing other uniform during the race = DSQ! ● Body marking check (both arms, both legs) ● Timing chip distribution (1 for the ankle) ● Swim cap distribution + Checking of 2nd unbranded swim caps (otherwise not allowed to wear) ● Leave your bag in the Athletes’ Lounge
Bike Check – before entering Athletes’ Lounge • Refer to 5.12. in Competition Rules • Handlebars with clips-ons • Wheels (UCI list) • Bike frame • Saddle position (-5 cm ≤ Men & -2 cm ≤ Women) • Approval for the addition/modification of any equipment to the bike, MUST be obtained from the Head Referee up until 10 minutes after the end of the Race Package Distribution • A Bike Mechanic will be available during check in at the athletes’ lounge
Check-in – Transition Area • Helmet check – Don’t leave your helmet fastened in the transition • Two rows of bike racks (one side T1/ other side T2). Running shoes outside the box at T2 racks • The bike must be racked in the first transition by the rear wheel and in the second transition by either of the wheels • Spare wheels to be brought to the Team Wheel Station (WS1)
The Course Swim 1 lap of 750 m Bike 0.15 km + 6 laps of 3.1 km + 0.15 km (18.9 km) Run 0.9 km + 2 laps of 2.0 km + 0.1 km (5.0 km)
Pre-start Procedure Athlete Introduction: • 10 minutes before start – line-up in Pre-Start Area • If wearing 2 swim caps the 2nd one must be unbranded • Keep your mask on and remove it after being introduced • As introduced jog to the swim start line and select your position. Remain there and stay behind the line! • Last minute gear will be moved to the TA by the LOC
Start Procedure Athletes in position: • The start can be given any time after the TD announces ”On your mark” • Air horn blast • The race starts • Athletes not moving forward at the start will receive a time penalty of 10 seconds in TA1.
False start • Several horn blasts • Everyone goes back to her/his spot Valid Start but with Early Starters: • If someone starts before the horn and everyone else starts with the horn, the false starter will receive a time penalty of 10 seconds in TA1 during which the athlete cannot touch any of their equipment
Swim course • Today at 13:00 - Water temperature: 19.8 oC - Air temperature: 20.7 oC • Diving Start • Swim behaviour will be closely monitored (drone and tablets to be used) • Take wetsuit, cap, goggles to transition into your box
Swim course Map • Distance to the first turn buoy (minimum) 270 m (the exact distance will be announced at the swim familiarisation on Saturday) • 1 lap (total distance of 750 m) – clockwise • Pass all the buoys on your right shoulder.
Transition Area • Individual Bike Racks – number, name and country flag • Two mirrored transitions • All used equipment into your box not doing so time penalty • Mount line at the end of the TA (GREEN LINE) • Dismount line at the start of the TA (RED LINE)

Bike course ● 0.15 km + 6 laps of 3.1 km + 0.15 km (total distance of 18.9 km) ● Flat, narrow and technical with 2 X 180 turns per lap / clockwise ● Be careful when entering and exiting the lap (due to road surface quality)/ At the pedestrian crossings, the road is getting narrower. ● 2 Wheel Stations ○ 1 Team wheel station (Wheel Stop 1) ○ 1 Neutral wheel station (Wheel Stop 2) ○ Discard plastic bottles and litter in the Littering Zone (located directly at the Run Aid Stations) or you will receive a time penalty ● Lap Counter: at the beginning of the lap, left hand side ● Lapped athletes are out of the race

Run Penalty Box • The penalty box is for infringements in: TA1, bike and TA2 • Transition will be videotaped for infringements • Location: end of the lap (200 m before the Finish: at 2.8 km and 4.8 km) • Information: White board to show race numbers and violation codes D = dismount line violation For example: S = swim conduct 12 D - athlete 12 received a time penalty for a M = mount line violation dismount line violation E = equipment outside of the box 12 x 2ME – athlete 12 received 2 time penalties L = littering 1 for mount line violation V = other violations 1 for equipment outside the box violation (Athletes need to read the • Procedure: 10 seconds penalty served on any run lap • If you don’t stop it will result in DSQ

Mixed Team Relay specific information
Team Composition • Saturday (05.09.), from 19:30 to 20:00 (at the Athletes’ Lounge) The Team Coaches will nominate the team members (maximum six) to the Head Referee. All nominated members must have submitted the medical certificate/ PCR test/ pre-event questionnaire • Sunday (06.09.), from 11:30 to 11:45 The Team Coaches can communicate a different team composition (using the six athletes nominated on Saturday) to the Head Referee (TD and HR will be located at the Athletes’ Lounge)

Check-in – Athletes’ Lounge • All team members must check in together • Have your mask on at all times and disinfect your hands before entering the tent • Teams will have first a team photo before entering the tent • Timing chip and swim cap distribution only for the 1st team member • 2nd, 3rd and 4th team member will collect the timing chip & swim cap from the relay area • Athletes MUST be in the relay check in zone in time to collect chip and be ready Check-in – Transition Area • All team members must check in together • The 4th team member to leave their bike closest to the mount line

The Course
Pre start - Athlete Introduction: • 10 minutes before start - line-up at the start area • Only 1st athlete will be introduced • Keep your mask on until being introduced • Jog to the start platform • Select your position and stay behind the line!
Swim course • Diving Start • 1 lap (total distance of 300 m) – anti-clockwise ○ Different for the 1st team member: distance to the first turn buoy 115 m ○ Same for the 2nd-3rd-4th team members: distance to the first turn buoy 135 m • Pass all the buoys (in yellow color) on your left shoulder ○ Except the last ones (in blue color) - swim between them
Swim course Map ○ 1st team member: start pontoon → B1 → B2 → BB2 → swim exit ○ 2nd-3rd-4th team members: swim start → BB1 → B3 → B4 → BB2 → swim exit ○ Swim exit: between BB1 and BB2
Transition Area • Individual Bike Racks – number, name and country flag • Two rows (mirrored set up): • T1: • Teams grouped by 4 racks next to each other on the same side • First Team Member should place his bike closest to the mount line • T2: • One bike rack per team/ 4 boxes • After each segment, TOs will remove only the bicycle

Run Penalty Box • Location: 1 km after the Transition (on the left hand side) - see exact location on the map • Procedure: 10 seconds penalty to be served / ANY member of the team can serve the penalty

Relay Zone • Prior to the relay exchange, the athletes will wait in the relay check in zone until the moment when the Technical Official tells them to enter the relay zone. Athletes need to be present at the check in area. • It is athletes’ responsibility to be there, to collect timing chip and be ready • Keep your mask on until you are called to the relay line • The relay exchange is completed when the finishing athlete crosses the relay line. At that point, the starting athlete can start and cross the start line - Keep both feet behind the relay line • No contact is allowed between the two athletes • If the athlete starts before the finishing athlete crosses the relay line, the team will get a 10 second penalty

Post-race Procedures • No congestion in finish area: go to mixed zone/recovery area • Please remove the timing chip on your own and put it in the specific bin • For Top 3 Athletes / Teams: - TV/Flash Interviews - Medal Ceremony • Top 3 Teams: No Team Members at Finish Area are allowed • Dress “up” – with race uniform (or country clothes) coaches assistance needed: Ambush marketing rules apply • Prize money will be wire transferred to the athletes.
Medal ceremony protocol – Individual race • Everyone keep his/her mask on the whole time. No photo without mask. • No flowers. • No beer celebration. But a glass of beer will be on the podium (gold medalist only). • 1 hostess/volunteer with face shield/mask and gloves to prepare and hold the tray with the medal and trophy to each athlete • Each athlete is taking on his/her own the medal/trophy/sash. • National anthem and flags raising as per usual. • No handshaking/ hugs
Medal ceremony protocol – Mixed relay race • Everyone keep his/her mask on the whole time. No photo without mask. • No flowers/ No beer celebration. • We announce teams one after the other. And they clear the podium between each team i.e.: We announce team 3rd - bronze medalists : The 4 team member are going on stage, each athlete goes on the podium when they hear their name. Each athlete is taking on his/her own medal from the tray. They leave the podium. Then we announce team 2nd - silver medalist etc. • National anthem and flags raising with only the 1st team present • No handshaking/ hugs
Anti-Doping Control • Photo ID is needed for every athlete to go for testing Athletes’ Accreditation • Athletes’ accreditations from the Sprint Race have to be validated for the Mixed Relay (additional mark on the credential distributed at the MTR check-in on Sunday) Team Medical Access • Only team medical will be allowed to enter the medical tent and then only with ITU Medical Delegate’s permission. • Team doctors should register with the ITU Medical Delegate • Team medical accreditations (wristbands) for the Mixed Relay will be distributed at the MTR check-in on Sunday
