   Few names over the last 20 years have
   been more synonymous with the National
   Trust for Historic Preservation than David J.
   Brown. As the founding Chief Preservation
   Officer at the National Trust, David led the
   Trust’s comprehensive preservation efforts,
   working with many stakeholders to facilitate
   the complex and costly efforts to save
   historic places and build thriving, livable
   communities. He has been an affiliate
   fellow at the American Academy in Rome, a
   trustee at Thomas Jefferson’s Poplar Forest
   and Filoli (a NTHP historic site), a founding
   director of the International National
   Trusts Organisation, and is an aficionado
   of American roots music. His decades
   of experience in preservation battles will
   provide helpful context for the wonders we
   will discover in Asheville.
