Report From The Mayor The council has received a resignation from a council member and at the March 22, 2021 Special Meeting of Council, the decision has been made to hold a by-election on June 15, 2021. We have made the request to Provincial Municipal Affairs about this decision and once we had received permission, an official notice will go out confirming this date. I have noticed recently, on Facebook, some people wondering why the Council meetings were being held in the mornings rather than the evenings when potentially more people could attend. The Council and the Village Administration have found that we get more people attending the meeting as observers, in the mornings, than we do in the evenings. If there are people who would be interested in attending evening meetings, please provide this feedback, in writing, to the village office or to a councillor, where we can then consider changing back to evening meetings if enough interest is expressed. Our Chief Administrative Officer, Kristie Vallet, does an excellent job of managing the village which benefits all of us. For example, some may not be aware, the complete council meeting package is always available on the village website in advance of the meeting so that the public is aware of upcoming topics or decisions to be made. Thank you, Bruce Gartside
