Donalda and District Museum Society On behalf of the Lamp Park Committee we would like to thank everyone who participated in our fundraiser, held in conjunction with Teresa’s Foods, as well as everyone who has contributed donations toward the refurbishing the globe on the Big Lamp. We were able to raise $417.15 for the cause! Due to continuing Covid-19 restrictions the museum will remain closed for tours until further notice. If you wish to get in contact with us, I will be in the museum office Mondays, Thursdays, and Fridays from 10am to 5pm. The Big Lamp stands as a representation of community dedication, not only during its construction, but to this day. If you have ever been inside, you will find the walls lined with plaques dedicated to the many amazing people who have supported the Lamp Project over the years. We continue to encourage community support through plaque sales so people may have the opportunity to leave their lasting mark on the Village. The minimum donation for a beautifully engraved and mounted plaque is $500 and would remain in the Lamp for future generations to enjoy and acknowledge for years to come. This year we will be redoing the fiberglass on the Lamp's globe which is estimated to cost $10,000. We are grateful and welcome all donations, big or small, to contribute to the continuation of the Lamp Project. Please contact the Museum for more information. Donalda Community Promotion Society I am sorry I missed the Lite report last month. Unfortunately the May Drive In had to be cancelled but we are hopeful it can be rescheduled in June. It looks like we will be able to put Canada Day on assuming nothing changes with restrictions. July 1 falls on a Thursday this year. Stay tuned to the Donalda Community Promotions Facebook page to access the most up to date information. Hope to see everyone out in public soon. Donalda School We were excited to see students back in the school last week, and are hopeful to complete the year with in class learning. The staff and students at Donalda School have seen a unique school year. With each challenge, they have shown their resiliency, and maintained a strong learning environment whether in school or at home. Thank you again to all of our parents and guardians for your continued support throughout the year. You have truly been instrumental in the success of these students! June will see staff and students focus on completing the curriculum for the year. We will also finish the Nutrition Program this month with meals provided to students on June 1, 8, and 10. Last day of classes for students will be June 25th. If you require a hard copy of your child's report card, please let the office know. As we wrap up the year, we anticipate that the fall will bring a fresh start, and that the worst of the pandemic will be behind us. It is our hope that school will resume to the pre-pandemic hecticness that we all enjoyed! Registration for the fall is open on our website. https://donalda.clearview.ab.ca/ Have a wonderful summer!
