Thank you for your interest in the role of Fundraising Coordinator and Cancer Council Tasmania (CCT). This Information Package provides details about the role and how to apply. CCT uses a merit-based selection process which means it selects preferred candidates for positions based on their demonstration of the skills, abilities and attributes to meet the requirements of the position. This is demonstrated through application, interview and referee checks. Candidates are short-listed from the original pool of applicants. The Selection Panel will interview the short-listed candidates and determine the preferred candidate after referee checks. Cancer Council Tasmania Position Description _______________________________________________________________________________________ Position Title: Fundraising Coordinator (North West) Department: Marketing and Fundraising Location: Devonport Status - Hours of Work: Full time (76 hours / fortnight) Classification Level: SCHADS Award Level 4 Reports to: Director Marketing & Fundraising (Hobart) No. of Direct Reports: None (will require volunteer management on occasion) Late Review Date: October 2018 _______________________________________________________________________________ Key Purpose of the Role The Fundraising Coordinator (NW) is responsible for managing and implementing the strategic fundraising needs of Cancer Council Tasmania (CCT) on the North West coast. The Coordinator’s focus is on fundraising excellence, community engagement and event campaign planning. Reporting to the Director Marketing and Fundraising, the Coordinator will have responsibility for planning, coordinating and implementing CCT national events in the North West (including Relay for Life, Australia’s Biggest Morning Tea, Daffodil Day and Girls Night In) and will devise and implement a signature CCT fundraising event in the North West. Our Department CCT is dependent on community and business support to help fund vital programs in cancer research, support, prevention and advocacy. Our fundraising work toward making this achievable. CCT’s portfolio of events includes a range of iconic and enjoyable fundraisers that companies and other organisations can get involved in, such as Relay for Life, Daffodil Day, Australia’s Biggest Morning Tea, Think Pink Ball (Launceston) and Girls Night in to name a few. Our Organisation CCT is a charity working to minimise the incidence and impact of cancer on all Tasmanians through advocacy, raising awareness of cancer prevention and offering support and information for anyone affected by the disease. CCT relies on the community for over 90% of the funds required to provide its services and programs. CCT’s vision is for a cancer free future. Our Work Environment CCT is a smoke-free work environment. CCT is committed to providing a healthy, supported and safe work environment, free from harassment and discrimination. ______________________________________________________________________________________ Role Responsibilities The primary responsibilities are: Liaise with Director of Marketing and Fundraising and the State-wide Marketing Coordinator to coordinate and complement event activities within the Marketing Strategy 2018-2021 to position CCT as the leading cancer organisation in Tasmania. Assist with the development of budgets and marketing campaigns for CCT in the North West in line with the organisation’s event calendar. In consultation with external stakeholders and the State-wide Marketing Coordinator, develop a business plan and implement a signature North West annual fundraising event. Liaise with the State Project Manager – Relay For Life to plan, coordinate and implement Relay for Life including significantly increasing the number of team registrations, coordinating all event logistics and engaging with the RFL committee to ensure the event successfully meets its revenue targets. Engage with the local community, corporate partners and RFL committee teams to maintain relationships and identify further opportunities and partnerships/sponsorships. Liaise with community fundraisers to ensure they receive the support and guidance necessary during their efforts. Update the fundraising. Coordinate the delivery of other CCT fundraising campaigns on the NW coast (such as Australia’s Biggest Morning Tea, Daffodil Day, Girls Night In, etc). Selection Criteria To apply for this role you will need to demonstrate your ability to meet the selection criteria. The selection criteria outline the skills, experiences and behaviours that are necessary to successfully carry out the role. Essential: Commitment to the Cancer Council Tasmania’s vision, mission and values. A Diploma degree or higher (or equivalent professional fundraising / events experience). Excellent stakeholder consultation, engagement and relationship development skills. Demonstrated experience in event campaign development with the ability to focus on delivering results to time and budget. Confident written communicator and public speaker. Extensive fundraising events experience with proven financial outcomes achieved. Ability to work autonomously and manage volunteers / recruit volunteers as needed. A current driver’s license. Desirable: Experience recruiting and managing volunteers. Current Working with Vulnerable People Check. Ability to travel intrastate and to work out of hours. ________________________________________________________ Cancer Council Tasmania will conduct a Police Check prior to the successful applicant’s appointment to this role.
