AMTC Advanced Manufacturing Technology Conference The most influential C-level event on Additive Manufacturing. Pre-Program October 12 – 14, 2021 Hybrid event – Virtual // Aachen, Germany
Introduction to the topic and overview The world is currently experiencing signif- icant disruption. The Covid-19 pandemic has accelerated digitization and at the same time, global markets and value chains are facing tremendous production challenges. For additive manufacturing, this offers “Momentum for Growth.” At the AMTC 2021, key decision makers from industry, government and the scientific community will explore newly developed methodologies and discuss new opportu- nities and ways to take advantage of them. Learnings from blueprint cases will show how AM can be successfully integrated into industrial processes. Experts will present the latest trends in technology and the market, and disruptive 3D startups will pitch their ideas. To make our AM community even bigger, there will also be an opportunity to network on our hybrid platform. AMTC 2021 at a glance Day 1: Start-Up-Night / 6.00 pm – 11.00 pm CET Day 2: Conference / 9.00 am – 6.00 pm CET Day 3: Workshops / 9.00 am – 12.00 pm CET AMTC Pre-Program – 2021 2
Day 1 Startup event 6.00 pm – 11.00 pm The conference begins with giving 3D startups a platform to pitch their ideas, allowing companies to connect with new, rising players in the AM industry. Disruptive technologies, materials and business models will be discussed. Day 2 Block A (Welcome) Keynotes and Discussion start: 9.00 am Prof. Michael Süß and representatives of the hosting partners will look at what has evolved since MTC3 two years ago. The global dis- ruption has affected everyone, including the AM industry. Where are society, science, academia and politics heading after the pandemic? How does this influence additive manufacturing? The speakers will explore these questions and outline their views of the future. Block B (Collaboration) Panel Discussion How has the Covid-19 pandemic impacted the AM community? Have the priorities outlined at MTC3 changed over the last two years? This C-level panel will provide insights, gives an update on the roadmap and explore the increased importance of collaboration. Block C (Top Speaker) Keynote Inspiration and vision – this year’s top speaker will change the way we look at progress and technology. Stay tuned and consult the program as it evolves. Block D (Blueprint Cases) Group presentations and discussion Companies and institutions are currently working on making AM an integral part of their industrial process landscape. Many have been successful, while others are still facing challenges. Sharing experi- ences amongst the AM community will help others accelerate their AM endeavors. Companies with interesting cases report on their AM implementation and discuss solutions and success factors. Some of the questions they will address: Who decided to integrate AM? What challenges did they face and how did they resolve them? How do they now further scale AM? Block E (Reproducibility) Panel Discussion A core element to the successful industrialization of AM is the re- producibility of processes. Ideally, the final component is exactly the same, regardless of which printer was used to produce it or in which region. This panel will discuss the status quo and what hurdles still exist before full reproducibility can be guaranteed. Block F (AM 2030) Presentations end: 6.00 pm The presentations draw a picture of the future for AM. What are the applications that will be possible with additive manufacturing in 2030? Which new fields and markets will AM open up (i.e. e-mobility or 4D printing)? Looking into the future is a motivational boost for the AM community. No other technology has such vast potential. Day 3 Workshops 9.00 am – 12.00 pm AMTC Pre-Program – 2021 4
