AGENCY EXECUTIVE COORDINATOR (Actual class: HEALTH SERVICES PROJECT COORDINATOR) HEALTH AND HUMAN SERVICES AGENCY COUNTY OF SAN DIEGO ANTICIPATED HIRING RANGE: $100,000 - $115,000 ANNUALLY EXCELLENT BENEFITS PACKAGE
THE POSITION Agency Executive Coordinator The Agency Executive Coordinator (AEC) will work in the County Administration Center, Health and Human Services Agency (HHSA) Executive Office, adjacent to the County’s beautiful Waterfront Park. The Agency Executive Coordinator will assist and report to the Agency Director and will work closely with staff in the Agency Executive Office including the Chief Operations Officer, Chief Financial Officer, Chief of Staff, Agency Human Resources Director, Director of Strategy and Innovation, CAO Staff Officers and other support staff. The incumbent will have significant responsibility for assisting with reviewing policy and administering special projects, including but not limited to, those related to private/public partnerships and community-based services. Key Responsibilities of this position include: • Provides direct support to the Agency Director to include preparing presentations; gathers information related to policy development; attends speaking engagements; serves as a liaison with community stakeholders, and assists the Agency Director to prepare for meetings with the Board of Supervisors, city/state/federal officials, and key stakeholders throughout the San Diego region and nation • Understands and stays current on high-level programmatic information related to health and human services and translating into content and talking points for diverse audiences • Analyzes reports, responses, and ensures communication includes appropriate departments • Acts as the liaison to local, state, and national boards which includes monitoring proceedings and advising the Director on relevant issues impacting the Agency • Assists with internal and external communication by researching information and designing talking points, speeches and presentations for public events, conferences and meetings • Represents the Agency Director on workgroups and meetings
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS QUALIFYING APPLICANTS WILL POSSESS: A bachelor's degree from an accredited U.S. college or university or a certified foreign studies equivalency AND three years of experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the essential functions of the classification OR a combination of education and/or experience as stated above. Notes: A master's degree or higher degree may substitute for a total of one year of experience. In order for education to substitute for work experience as indicated above, college level coursework must demonstrate progress toward a degree and may be substituted on a year-for-year basis. A bachelor’s degree is highly desirable. THE IDEAL CANDIDATE • A highly effective communicator, able to address sensitive issues with staff, customer, and community groups • Exceptional writing and communication skills • Multi-tasker and able to complete high volume of work that is time sensitive and occasionally taking place during evenings and weekends • Sees the “big picture” and looks beyond department boundaries when making recommendations • Has experience reviewing strategic programs and policies related to health and social services programs and services • Ability to translate data and high-level complex information into understandable content and talking points for diverse audiences • Has a track record of successfully reaching out and establishing relationships with agency and county executives, community leaders, and partner organizations • Has proven analytical skills, as well as high degree of organization and political acumen • Empathetic listener who is sensitive to the needs of staff and external customers
SALARY & BENEFITS COMPENSATION: The anticipated hiring range is $100,000 - $115,000 annually. Annual salary reviews are performance-based and goal-oriented.
