ADVERTISEMENT 1 Aged & Infirm Clergy Fund of the Archdiocese of St Andrews & Edinburgh Catholic since birth? Joined later in life? Do you have fond memories of a priest who has now retired? One who shared the joy of your wedding day or helped your family through a difficult time? Supporting the Aged & Infirm Clergy Fund allows us to show our support of and gratitude for our retired priests. Twenty Seven Priests are currently supported by the Fund, which provides a retirement grant, suitable accommodation and a monthly allowance to our retired priests. The Fund is generously supported by the people of the Archdiocese through two special collections each year. Generous donations have been made by some individuals and legacies have also been left in wills, essential if we are to build up the Fund and support our priests in retirement in the future. The priests of the Archdiocese offer three Masses per year for the Benefactors of the Fund. If you wish to make a donation or leave a legacy in your will please contact: Mr Graham Scrimgeour – Director of Finance Tel: 0131-623 8942 Email: graham.scrimgeour@staned.org.uk

12 THE CATHOLIC DIRECTORY Notes Dates — Dates given in the heading for each parish generally indicate the years in which the parish/mission began its existence as an independent entity and the present church was opened. First date: the date of foundation of the independent parish/mission Last date: year in which the current church was formally opened. (Source: parish entries in The Catholic Directory for Scotland, 1929 onwards.) Postal Addresses — County names do not form part of a postal address; nor does the name of the local authority area (unless it is also the post town). Catholic Schools — The name of a school without brackets indicates that it is within the parish. The name of a primary school within brackets indicates that it is in another parish, but part or all of the parish falls within its official catchment area. — The building has a loop aerial for hearing aid users. — The building has easy access for wheel-chair users. — The building has adapted toilet facilities for disabled people (sometimes in an adjacent hall rather than in the Church itself).
