╴ Your day will start with a 1h30 drive to the Bairrada wine region for a private visit,
wine tasting and lunch at one of our favourite Bairrada wine producers, Luis
Pato, a pioneering Portuguese winegrower who single handedly turned around
the reputation of Bairrada with his exceptional wines from the indigenous Baga
variety. Since the eighteenth century, the Pato family has been producing wine at
their Quinta do Ribeirinho estate but it wasn't until 1980, when Luis produced his
rst wine, a 100% Baga from an exceptional year, that the Pato name gained
international recognition.
╴ After lunch, enjoy a visit and wine tasting at Vadio owned by partners Luís Patrão
and Eduarda Dias. Born in Bairrada, Luís divides his time between Vadio and
Alentejo, where he worked for 13 years at Herdade do Esporão. He is currently
the winemaking director at Herdade de Coelheiros. Eduarda is Brazilian and has
lived in Portugal for 11 years

╴ Meet Ryan Opaz, Michelle Paris and your bus driver at the lobby and head to
Vila Nova de Gaia.
╴ Enjoy a private visit at Poças Junior, an independent family-owned business
that has been in operation since 1918. Learn about Port’s history and culture
while visiting their cellars. This will be followed by the Vintage Fire Opening and
a premium tasting of Tawny Port in their newly built tasting room.
╴ After the visit your driver will take you to Vila Nova de Gaia river front for lunch
(not included).
╴ This afternoon you will test your knowledge with a fun blind tasting at Burmester
Port Lodge. The lodge sits in a beautiful location near the lower deck of the D.
Luiz bridge, on the river’s edge. This company has been exporting Port since
1750. The Burmester cellars and museum, which were reopened to the public in
2012, will offer you the opportunity to explore their vast collection of historic items
and wines.
╴ Return to the hotel. Time to freshen up before dinner.

- Your experience will start with a private visit at Quinta da Gaivosa, one of the six
Douro properties owned by the Alves de Sousa family, one of the larger
independent producers in the Douro.
- Leave for Gouvinhas.
- Enjoy a private visit at Quinta do Crasto. Located in one of the most magical
spots in the Douro Valley, Crasto has developed into one of the leading estates in
the Douro. Crasto's cult-wines, Vinha da Ponte and Vinha Marie-Teresa, are
among the most highly rated and sought after wines from Portugal. A premium
tasting and lunch at the winery is included.
- After lunch, relax on a leisurely private cruise along the winding Douro River in a
barco rabelo, a majestic wooden sailboat historically used to transport the Port
wine barrels from the Douro Valley to the Port Lodges in Vila Nova de Gaia.

Ready for the Harvest Experience?
╴ Meet Ryan Opaz, Michelle Paris, and your bus driver and head to São João da
Pesqueira. Bring comfortable clothes, shorts, and walking shoes. Also, pack a
change of clothes and a swimming suit. We will be out all day today and will not
have the chance to go back to the hotel before dinner.
╴ Friends of ours for many years, Oscar Quevedo will show us around his family
estate and give us a glimpse into the winemaking process of the Douro, including
a chance to get your Purple Foot Club badge. Head to Quevedo’s Quinta
D’Agodinho and savour lamb and octopus on the grill while basking in the
vineyards! Make sure you have your swimsuit with you if you want to take a dip
in the Douro
╴ Leave for Quinta das Aranhas.
╴ Now is the time we put you to work. Bring your shorts or a bathing suit that you
don’t mind getting dirty. We’ll be climbing in a lagar (more info on that soon)

- On the way, stop for a private guided visit with wine tasting and lunch (pre-set
menu with wines) at Quinta da Covela, a boutique winery located on a beautiful
estate in the Vinho Verde region, between Douro and Minho. It is situated in the
geological transition between granite and schist, in a south-facing amphitheatre
on the river’s right-bank. The estate covers 34 hectares, with 14 hectares planted
to vines. The wines produced here include not only some of the greatest whites
in Portugal, but also rosés and award winning reds.
- After lunch enjoy a relaxed drive towards Porto.

also for its fresh sh. The moment you walk in the door, you’ll be met with trays of
the daily catch from stuffed rock crab and tiny orange shrimp.Combined with their
outstanding service, it’s a food lover’s dream (dinner included).
