Youth ages 8-12 and 13-18, and adults 18+ will have the opportunity to compete against their age cate- gory from the comfort of their home. Popular games offered include Rocket League, Fortnite, Madden and Super Smash Bros. Participants must have a Playstation Plus, Xbox Live, Nintendo Online or a PC as well as the game they are competing in. 4 |
School Release Days Gymnastics School's out! Check out the non-school day programs we have planned in partnership with Spring Lake Park Recreation and Parks. Dance MAPLE SYRUPING & OUTDOOR SURVIVAL AT WARGO NATURE CENTER March 15 Kicker's Karate Spend your spring break learning all about the great outdoors! This is a non-school day field- trip for grades K-6 to Wargo Nature Center, an interpretive nature center located on the Rice Ice Skating Creek Chain of Lakes Park Reserve. For half of the day, participants will see the process of making Maple Syrup. In the after- noon, Wargo Nature Center staff will provide an interactive outdoor survival crash course. Make & Take Cooking Classes ZERO GRAVITY TRAMPOLINE PARK March 17 Soccer Skill Builder The highlight of this non-school day program will be a trip to Zero Gravity Trampoline Park. Zero Gravity features 11,000 square feet of trampoline jumping space, including a foam Basketball Skill Builder pit, dodgeball, climbing wall, aerial ninja chal- lenge, playground, and more. Participants will have 90 minutes of jump time and will receive Volleyball Skills & Drills complementary jump socks. Pickleball • AARP Smart Driver • Educational Classes • Group Fitness Classes • Dance Classes Day Trips We are pleased to offer full day trips for adults in collaboration with the City of Roseville, Fridley Community Services and St. Anthony Community Services. On these trips luxury coach transportation is provided as well as an escort for each trip. American Swedish Institute Lovingly dubbed the “Castle,” the Turnblad Mansion on the American Swedish Institute campus is stylistically unique and massive in scale. American Swedish Institute interpreters will guide us through a one-hour tour of the Turnblad Mansion, offering insights into the history and story. Following the tour, we will enjoy a traditional Swedish Smorgasbord. Adult Volleyball League Interested in playing indoor volleyball this winter? New Brighton Parks and Rec is offering an adult co-rec and women’s volleyball league Mondays and Wednesdays, January 10-March 16. Teams will be guaranteed 10 games. Registrations will be taken on a team basis, but those without a team can register as a free agent for teams looking for more players or subs. Award will be given to the first place team. Open Pickleball New Brighton Community Center offers open pickleball in the gymnasium. Participants will be required to check-in at Guest Services and are asked to submit their $4 payment before entering the gym. Participants should bring their own paddle. Outdoor Ice Skating Rinks and Warming Houses New Brighton Parks and Recreation maintains outdoor ice skating facilities at Freedom, Hansen, Totem Pole and Sunny Square Parks. Weather permitting; the skating rinks will be open Saturday December 18-Monday, February 21.
