7th Grade Summer Assignments 2020 Welcome to 7th grade at Booker T! We can't wait to meet you in the fall. To get you prepared for seventh-grade math, we have created a summer math assignment just for you!
7th GRADE MATH SUMMER ASSIGNMENT 2020 Your summer math assignment is on a website called Delta Math. You may have an account from last year. If so, please follow the directions below to access the assignment. If you do not have a delta math account, please scroll down for helpful instructions. If you have a Delta Math Account 1. Go to www.deltamath.com. 2. Sign into Delta Math using your Username: ms54 email and Password: OSIS number. 3. Click on “Tools” in the upper right-hand corner. 4. Click on “Manage Login and Teachers.” 5. Click on “Add Teacher. ”Type in the Teacher Code. The code is 700893. Type in the Teacher Code. The code is 700893. 6. You will see that it says ‘Summer Math - Booker T Washington’. Click “Select,” then “7th Grade,” and then “add.” 7. Click the ‘Delta Math’ icon in the top-left corner. Your summer assignment will appear! 8. Click on a topic to get started! For the sections that are timed (we made them untimed), you need to get a certain amount correct in a row. Once you get a certain amount correct, you can move on to the next part of the assignment.
7th GRADE HUMANITIES SUMMER ASSIGNMENT 2020 PART I: Writing Directions: Journal about your summer of 2020! Journals may be handwritten or typed. Write a minimum of 5 journal entries and include the date of each entry at the top. Be sure to label your journal entries #1-5. Typed journals should be 12 pt. font, double-spaced, and a minimum of 1 page each. If you enjoy journaling and want to document this summer in quarantine, feel free to write more than 5 entries. *Please have your journal complete and readily available on the first day of school. Some ideas for your journal entries include but are not limited to: ● Something new you that learned to do or a new activity you have tried ● Someone you have connected with virtually who has been helpful or meaningful to you ● Activities that you normally would have done but couldn't ● Where you would go this summer if you could be anywhere in the world ● What you have learned about yourself or the world around you ● What you are grateful for ● Books, music, or other material that have helped you deal with being in quarantine ● Poetry ● Stories from your summer ● Your own topic! PART II: Reading and Character Analysis Directions: You must read at least two books over the summer. One of the books must be a work of historical fiction and the other must be a text related to social justice. For suggestions, see the booklist below. You will complete the “Character Analysis” worksheet from the social justice text after reading. *Please have your texts and worksheet completed and readily available on the first day of school. ● Most of these are works of historical fiction where the events occur sometime between the years of exploration (approximately 1492) and the end of the Civil War (1865). These take place in North or South America or Europe. ● As you read your historical fiction book, you should focus on tracking the characterization and development of one character (either the main character or an important character that you have a lot of information about -- even the antagonist). ● When choosing a historical fiction novel, be sure it meets the requirements of our time period -- 1492 through 1865 (the end of the Civil War). If you are unsure as to whether or not a book is appropriate, choose one from the list below. ● Please do not come in September having spent time and effort reading and recording information on a book that will not be acceptable. ● *Please do not read Chains (by Laurie Halse Anderson) or Twelve Angry Men (by Reginald Rose) as these are our class texts.
