If you wish to apply for a bursary please complete the bursary application form or contact events@alzint.org. The deadline is 31 May 2022 but we encourage applicants to submit their completed form as soon as possible. ADI is also seeking funding to provide in-person registrations for people living with dementia. Please note: Reduced registration rates are available to participants from Lower and Middle Income Countries (LMIC), family carers and students. Students are asked to provide proof of their student status at registration in order to qualify at the stated rate. Accompanying person’s registration provides admission to the Welcome reception only. 5
Key Messages • The ADI International Conference is the longest running international conference on dementia featuring global leaders in a wide range of areas of dementia care, understanding and science. • The ADI Conference is regularly attended by over 1,000 delegates including researchers, health and care professionals, care home managers, civil society, Alzheimer association representatives and people with dementia and their families from over 100 countries. • Every day of the conference will feature the voices and experience of people living with dementia and their care partners. ADI is proud partners with Dementia Alliance International (DAI), the independent self-advocacy organisation of people with dementia. Join us in London and online! • The 35th Global Conference of Alzheimer’s Disease International will be the first hybrid event of ADI with the full programme available online and in-person. • This year’s conference will feature the world premiere of ADI’s new film with ITN Productions ‘Building on Hope’. • This year’s programme is designed around the 7 action areas of the WHO Global action plan on dementia, giving us a chance to share progress, insights, innovation at the global, national, regional and local level. • The conference will include the latest in scientific progress, including a review of ADI’s newly published World Alzheimer Report 2021. • The conference programme will be available online for 1 month after the conference ends, allowing you to revisit or rewatch any sessions, poster presentations and workshop discussions that you may have missed. • London is a leading global city that offers culture, art, history, innovation and much more. The Mayor of London recently committed to making London the world’s first dementia friendly city and we are excited to see how this unfolds. • London is also an excellent gateway for traveling to other cities around the United Kingdom and mainland Europe. 6
Ways in which you can help Below are some simple ways you could help us to promote the conference. • Send an email to your members/contacts telling them about the conference • Share the emails we have been sending you about the conference with your contacts. The emails will be coming from the email address events@alzint.org. If you have not been receiving them, please check your spam folder and/or let us know! • Help us spread the word of availability of bursaries for free virtual registrations, for people living with dementia. Share the link to application details, available on the conference website. • Encourage researchers and professionals you know to submit an abstract by 5 November so they can share their knowledge with a global audience • Promote Super early bird registration closing 10 December • Include details about the conference on your website! • Include a news article or advert in your newsletter • Distribute save the date flyers and postcards at your events or in mailings • Follow us and share our conference posts on Twitter and Instagram • Use our Twitter and Instagram hashtags #ADI2022 so we can share and engage with your posts! • Retweet our tweets • Share our Facebook posts • Share an update on LinkedIn • Include a slide about the conference in your presentations • Arrange for details of the conference to be put on relevant association/organisation websites or event calendars in your country 7
Employer justification Attendance at ADI 2022 will also benefit your employer, colleagues and wider community. Below are some bullet points to guide a discussion with your employer to justify attendance. There is the opportunity to attend virtually or in-person. While we understand that not everyone is able to attend in-person, particularly while COVID-19 continues to affect our day-to-day to lives, we would love to welcome you to London and meet face to face. • One of the world’s largest and most important conferences on Alzheimer’s disease. Over 1,000 delegates from over 100 countries are expected to attend. • Opportunity to showcase your work. Submit an abstract and share your latest research, projects, knowledge with a global audience, helping to ensure the sharing of best practices around the world. • Potential for CME credits. We hope to offer CME credits for attendance to the conference. Please keep an eye on the conference website for confirmation in the upcoming months. • Ability to network and exchange knowledge with experts in a variety of fields. • An opportunity for people living with dementia to come together, share their stories, have their voices heard and provide inspiration. • Reasonable rates: Reduced registration rates are available for people living with dementia, family carers, students and people in low- and middle-income countries. We also offer in- person and virtual registration rates, with prices further reduced during super early bird and early bird registration time periods, making attendance accessible for all • Maximise all ADI 2022 has to offer by reviewing, revisiting or watching a session you may have missed out on. The conference content will be available for a month after the event. 8
