EVENT INFORMATION – RALLY DOSSIER THE ROUTES For 2018 the KTM Adventure Rally Canada will include 3 different routes that will suit all different kind of adventure motorcycles and riders. All 3 classes will be racing in the same goal of getting the closest final millage possible and doing the best time during our special stages. The millage will be calculated according to the KTM predefined routes and the team results will be shared during the award ceremony on Saturday night. “R1” Class (Adventure Off-Road Route): The “R1” class comes back in 2018 with some good changes. This year, the trails will still be Adventure friendly (achievable on a KTM 1290 Super Adventure R or similar models) but we will crank up the difficulty to the next level. You and your teammates will have to conquer an average 300km a day on a parkour that will be challenging at some points presenting some big elevations, rocks and logs. Also, be prepared for some tough single track, river crossing, mud racing and pretty challenging special tests. Don’t forget, Knobby Tires are mandatory to ride in this class. “R2” Class (Adventure Touring Route): The “R2” class is available to teams of 2 to 4 riders ready to work their way through some Off-Road trails and gravel routes. With a total of 900kms, the 2-day “R2” class will make you and your teammates enter a great adventure where it will be really important to follow your GPS closely. With a maximum of 20% pavement, the route you will be traveling will go up and down the mountains bringing you to some impressive points of view. Knobby Tires are also mandatory to ride in this class. “S” Class (Adventure Street Route): New to our 2018 edition, The “S” class will be available to team of 2 to 4 riders and will be a mix of pavement and large gravel roads. The challenge of the “S” class will reside in the length of the journey. The first day will reach up to 800kms while the second day will add an impressive 600kms for a total of over 1400kms aboard your motorcycle in the course of 2 days. The GPS navigation will be mixed with a scavenger hunt type of race to be able to crown the best Street Adventure rider. 5
