February 9, 2022 Page 2 Who: Wisconsin Optometrists What: Wisconsin Optometric Association 2022 Spring Seminar When: April 28-29, 2022 Where: Marriot Madison West - Middleton, WI Your WOA is pleased to announce the 2022 WOA Spring Seminar at the Marriot Madison West in Middleton, WI will be an in person event! We held our first three in person events last fall, after an 18 month break due to the pandemic, and doctors and vendors were happy to have the opportunity to be together again. We had safety precautions in place as the health and wellness of our members was of the utmost importance to us and many of these same precautions will be in place for this 2022 event. The education will begin at 8:00 a.m. on Thursday, April 28th and will run until 3:00 p.m. on Friday, April 29th. We are expecting a great turn out in the exhibit hall with over 40 companies attending. These companies are excited to come to Middleton to show their support of our profession as well as demonstrate their latest products and new ideas. Industry support of WOA events is extremely important to the success of the association! We have a great line up of speakers with two new faces, Drs. Christopher Borgman and Timothy Earley and Wisconsin Optometrist favorite, Dr. John McGreal. The event boasts a diverse list of content topics including: Updates in AMD Detection and Management, Neuro Brainteasers, OCT Grand Rounds, Plaquenil Toxicity Updates, Glaucoma Updates, Neuropathic Corneal Pain, Steroids in Eye Care and Systemic Disease conditions impacts on the visual system. Missouri Eye Associates, St. Louis, MO Education Approval: Doctors can earn up to 14 hours at this event, comprised of: 2 hours Posterior Segment (PS) 1 hour Principles of Diagnosis (PD) 1 hour Anterior Segment (AS) 4 hours Pharmacology (PH) 2 hours Glaucoma (GL) 2 hours Neuro Optometry (NO) 2 hours Treatment & Management of Ocular Disease (TD) All courses are Wisconsin Optometry Examining Board-approved. All 14 hours are COPE-approval pending. Registration Information: Early Bird Registration Deadline: March 28, 2022. Regular Registration Deadline: April 22, 2022. If you are paying using a credit card, you are encouraged to register online at https:// www.woa-eyes.org/event_registration?id=60 There are two options for registration: 1. Full Registration: select either one or two days (includes all education and meals), or 2. Partial Registration: select classes and meals individually and pay per class. There is a substantial registration discount for WOA members. Hotel Information: The WOA has a block of rooms reserved for Wednesday and Thursday evening. The group rate is $135, plus taxes per night for a standard room. The room block is open until April 6, 2022, but once the block sells out the contracted rate is not guaranteed. Early reservations are strongly suggested.

Reflecting his commitment to public health, Dr. Earley is the Clinic Director of the Bright Eyedeas Vision Clinic. At Bright Eyedeas, high school stu- dents enrolled in the optical technology/visual sci- ences program work with Dr. Earley to provide no- cost eye examinations and eyeglasses for patients in need. He also participates in InfantSEE, a public health program designed to ensure that vision care becomes an essential part of infant wellness.

Page 6 Registration Information—Things You Need To Know The deadline for EARLY BIRD REGISTRATION is March 28, 2022. Handouts will be available electronically only. Registered attendees will receive an email within a week of the event with links to the handouts. The deadline for regular registration is April 22, 2022. No registrations will be allowed on-site. All courses will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis. Only completed registration forms, with payment for the seminar included, will be accepted. Incomplete forms will delay processing. Please make sure you have provided all necessary infor- mation and typed or printed clearly on the form. Payment must be included with the registration form. There are two registration forms: 1. Full Registration: A discounted package including all meals and all education classes on either one or both days of the event. You must select which classes and meals you plan on attending. You can sign up for full registration, even if you aren’t taking all the classes/meals, if it is cheaper than doing partial registration for the events you are attending. 2. Partial Registration: You choose classes and meals individually and pay on a per- class basis. You must check each class and meal you plan on attending, whether you choose “Full Registration” or “Partial Registration.” You will only receive tickets for classes and meals that are marked. Confirmation notices will be sent at least two weeks prior to the seminar to all doctors who register before that date. All classes, meals, and other functions require either a ticket or name badge for admittance. Refunds Doctors who pre-register and find out they are unable to attend may obtain a refund (less a $30 ad- ministrative fee), if their written notice of cancellation is received in the WOA office either by email, fax, or standard mail by April 22, 2022. All refund checks will be mailed after the conference.
