ITINERARY DAY ONE - July 10 2022 - Make your way to the Vincent Hotel in Liverpool The Vincent Hotel in Southport is a unique lifestyle hotel in the North West of England. Situated on Lord Street, Southport’s Parisienne Boulevard, the Vincent takes comfort and personal service to new heights – all within a fresh, stylish and contemporary interior. We look forward to taking care of you. This stylish 4-star boutique hotel has a 6th-floor gym and a relaxed restaurant with chic surroundings. Free Wi-Fi, luxury beds, an LCD TV with Sky Sports and sleek bathrooms are featured in the air-conditioned rooms, studios and penthouse. The Pacific restaurant is open between April and October and combines European cooking techniques with Chinese, Thai and Southeast Asian cuisine. The V Cafe and Restaurant has its own blend of fresh coffee. Guests also have access to Vincent's cocktail bar, which offers a creative cocktail list. PLACENAME DAY TWO - July 11 2022 - Golf at Royal Liverpool Breakfast at your hotel At Royal Liverpool the land is unusually flat, offering little in the way of definition – three sides of the course are bordered by houses and the Dee Estuary lies on the western side. The holes alongside the shore are the most visually appealing and very challenging. Without doubt, Royal Liverpool is a tough links. Only six holes are in the dunes – otherwise there is little protection from the everchanging wind. There is nothing artificial about the course. It represents a traditional, genuine test of golf and it was heart-warming to see that Hoylake examined the very best players in 2006. They came, they saw and Tiger conquered!
ITINERARY DAY THREE - July 12 2022 - Golf at Royal Lytham Breakfast at your hotel This is definitely a links course, but it is no longer beside the sea. It now lies half a mile inland, but with Blackpool tower looming in the distance you know the sea isn't far away. Rather unusually, the links is surrounded by red brick houses and (less unusually) flanked on the west by the railway line. The guardian Victorian clubhouse always watches sternly over the links. Conditioning is often exceptional and not as rough and ready around the edges as many of its contemporaries. The ground is relatively even, except perhaps on a couple of holes, where the going is slightly undulating. The course itself is extremely tough, only Carnoustie (on the British Open circuit) is thought to be tougher. PLACENAME DAY FOUR - July 13 2022 Golf at Royal Birkdale Royal Birkdale truly is a famous links and widely recognised for its fairness. If you hit the fairways, rarely will the ball be thrown off course. The fairways are laid out in the flat-bottomed valleys between the towering dunes. These dunes, in turn, provide superb viewing platforms for spectators. Invariably in immaculate condition, Royal Birkdale is a very tough cookie to master. The greens were re-built prior to the 1998 Open and despite their youth, are extremely difficult to read. Birkdale has a superfluity of great golf holes. The par five 15th is Birkdale’s longest hole and one of the most heavily bunkered on the course; knock it straight down the middle off the tee and then using a long iron or a fairway wood, avoid the bunkers spread-eagled across the fairway; chip it on and, bingo, an easy five! The monstrous 18th has seen drama over the years, a heavily bunkered par four measuring 476 yards. In windy conditions, many of the carries from tees to fairways into the prevailing wind can be too much for the average golfer.
ITINERARY Continued - Accommodation at Trump Turnberry TRUMP TURNBERRY—Ocean view Room The deluxe ocean view bedrooms at Trump Turnberry are richly furnished to the highest of standards, with the most impressive feature of the room being the spectacular far reaching sea views out across to the Ailsa Craig and beyond. Containing a hand carved walnut burl mahogany bed, with complementing bedside tables featuring delicate gold leaf detail. Surrounded by Scotland’s most beautiful scenery, every visit is unforgettable. The elegant spacious rooms feature a 65-inch flat-screen TV, amenities from Arran Aromatic and, as a centre piece, a sparkling Austrian chandelier. Guests may enjoy an exquisite menu in the signature 1906 Restaurant or relax in Grand Tea Lounge & Bar. DAY FIVE - July 14 2022 - Golf at Royal Troon -Old Course Breakfast at your hotel Royal Troon is a traditional out and back links course. The opening few holes are relatively gentle, with a series of short par fours running along the Firth of Clyde. It’s from these early holes that you get the chance to soak up the views. On a clear day, you can see the distant Ailsa Craig in the south, and to the west, the majestic mountains on the Isle of Arran. The course measures 7,208 yards from the championship tips but line is more important than distance from the tee. Bunkers are everywhere, the majority of which are not visible from the tees. There’s plenty of deep rough and a smattering of gorse and broom to punish the wayward shot.
ITINERARY DAY SIX - July 15 2022 - Golf at Turnberry Ailsa The Ailsa course at the Turnberry Resort is probably the most scenic Open Championship golf course. Situated on a craggy headland overlooking the small granite island of Ailsa Craig in the Firth of Clyde, with superb views across to the Mull of Kintyre and the Isle of Arran, the course is located in an ideal spot for playing golf. Essentially, the Ailsa’s an out and back layout with the prevailing wind usually at your back for the outward nine. The stretch of holes from the 4th to the 11th is thrilling and the scenery breathtaking. The tee shot on the par four 9th fills you with trepidation as you drive over the rugged shoreline to a blind fairway. The last four holes are as demanding as you will find anywhere, beginning at the short 15th, which falls away sharply to the right of the green. Wilson’s Burn winds round the front of the next hole, catching anything short of the putting surface, and it's followed by a long, narrow par five that rollercoasters wildly from tee to green. The hotel then forms an imposing backdrop to the 18th hole—renamed "Duel in the Sun"—where many a dramatic moment has unfolded in Open championships. PLACENAME Continued - Accommodation at Dakota Hotel The 4-star Dakota Edinburgh is a modern hotel with an award-winning restaurant and free Wi-Fi. Edinburgh city centre is just a 10-minute train journey from the building Bold styling and subdued tones set the backdrop for the ultimate comfort, the bedrooms at Dakota Edinburgh are designed to deliver on every detail. Crisp, high-thread cotton linen for a beautiful night’s sleep. Stunning bathrooms with invigorating monsoon showers. Home comforts of Sky TV with Sports. It’s the detail that sets this hotel apart from other hotels in Edinburgh. The bar and grill was awarded Scottish Seafood Restaurant of the Year 2009. Food is made from local ingredients and ranges from fresh fish to mature steaks. With Dakota Edinburgh’s complimentary shuttle service (reservation required), Edinburgh Airport is just a 15-minute journey away. Forth Road Bridge and South Queensferry are 2 minutes’ drive away.
ITINERARY DAY SEVEN - July 16 2022 - Attend 3rd round of The Open Breakfast at your hotel The likes of Willie Park Snr and Old Tom Morris could never have imagined what The Open would become when they played in the 1st Championship at Prestwick in 1860, with a field of just 8 players. Now, 161 years, and 149 Opens later the home of golf will host The 150th Open at the Old Course, St Andrews. On what is sure to be a historic Open with record crowds, the world’s greatest players will descend in Fife to try and capture the Claret Jug. This event is a must for golfers and golf enthusiasts from all around the world. DAY EIGHT - July 17 2022 - Attend 4th round of The Open Breakfast at your hotel History will be made once again at the home of golf in 2021 when golfers will compete for the Claret Jug between the 15th and 18th July. The Old Course first hosted The Open in 1873 when the 13th Championship was played over an 18 hole course for the first time and was won by Tom Kidd. Since then, the historic links had witnessed some of golf’s most notable players go on to become Champion Golfer of the Year including JH Taylor, James Braid, Bobby Jones, Peter Thomson, Bobby Locke, Jack Nicklaus, Seve Ballesteros, Sir Nick Faldo and Tiger Woods.
TOUR PRICING & TESTIMONIALS DAY NINE - July 16 2022—Golf at North Berwick Breakfast at your hotel The West Links Course at North Berwick Golf Club is among the world's oldest courses, dating back to 1832. There are two reasons why North Berwick is such an enjoyable course: 1) the land is raised above sea level, affording those excellent views 2) it has a superb collection of holes, a number of which have been replicated at other courses the world over. From rock walls that snake across and along several holes to huge swales that dissect greens, every shot is met with challenges that can be both fun and frustrating at once. 7.30pm: Tonight there will be a presentation dinner, including drinks, where you can reminisce on a great tour! DAY TEN - July 19 2022—Tour Ends Breakfast at your hotel. 9am—Group Transfer to Edinburgh Airport—please book flights that depart after midday.
