Lani Hall was the lead singer of Sergio Mendes’ group, Brasil ’66, and wrote the English lyrics for the band’s Brazilian songs. She won a Grammy for producing Alpert’s Steppin’ Out album and another for “Best Latin Pop Performance” on her “Es Fácil Wednesday Amar” album. In 1966, A&M Records signed Brasil ’66 and Lani met her future husband, music legend, Herb Alpert. 9/14/22 Herb and Lani married in 1973. 7:30 p.m. 5

Founded in 2003 by Craig Martin, Classic Albums Live takes the greatest albums and recreates them live on stage - note for note, cut for cut, using the best musicians. “Think of it as a recital,” says Thursday Martin, “these albums are historic and stand the test of time.” Forgoing costumes and impersonations, Classic Albums Live has found success in concentrating solely on the music. “We don’t dress 1/26/23 up or wear any sort of costume. We just stand there and play. All 7:30 p.m. of our energy is put into the music. We want the performance to sound exactly like the album,” says Martin. With 100+ shows a year across North America, Classic Albums Live has seen massive success in performing arts centers and theatres. “We created something that endures and connects. Storm Large: musician, actor, playwright, author, awesome. She shot to national prominence in 2006 as a finalist on the CBS show Rock Star: Supernova, where despite having been eliminated in the week before the finale, Storm built a fan base that follows her around the world. Storm made her debut as guest vocalist with the band Pink Martini in April 2011, singing four sold-out concerts with the National Symphony Orchestra at the Kennedy Center in Washington, DC. Recent engagements include debuts with the Philly Pops, members of the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, and the Seattle Symphony, as well as return engagements with the Houston, Detroit, Toronto, and BBC Symphonies; the New York Pops; and the Louisville Orchestra, with whom she recorded the 2017 album All In. In the fall of 2014, Storm & Le Bonheur released a record designed to capture their sublime and subversive interpretations of the American Songbook. Entitled simply Le Bonheur,¬ the recording is a collection of tortured and titillating love songs: beautiful, familiar, yet twisted … much like the lady herself. Sunday 2/5/23 7:30 p.m. STORM LARGE “… the overpoweringly sexy, clearly sung … performance of singer Storm Large (a member of the eclectic pop band Pink Martini) conquered all with her sheer force of personality.” — Musical America Some material may not be suitable for children under 17 20

The passion of youthful love is never more vivid than in Romeo and Juliet, arguably Shakespeare’s most beloved and well-known work. Alternating between laugh-out-loud comedy, exuberant romance, and wrenching tragedy, Romeo and Juliet features Shakespeare’s greatest romantic pairing: a star- crossed duo whose passion careens into disaster. Populated with immortal characters, high drama, and Shakespeare’s most famed passages, Romeo and Juliet is as powerful as ever. The feud between two dynastic families is put to the ultimate test when Romeo, of the Montague family, and Juliet, of the Capulets, fall deeply into love. Prevented from marrying by their warring families yet unable to turn away from each other, the lovers embark on a dangerous plan to secretly wed, leading to unexpected yet devastating consequences. Founded in 1975, Actors From The London Stage (AFTLS) is one of the oldest touring Shakespeare theatre companies in the world. Housed and workshopped in the UK and based in the United States at Shakespeare at Notre Dame, this intensive residency program is truly one of a kind. The company presents residencies at approximately 16-18 universities per year. These one-week visits present students and faculty with an opportunity to Saturday experience a cross-disciplinary, in-depth, and dynamic set of workshops, further enhanced by performances 2/11/23 of one of Shakespeare’s great masterpieces. 7:30 p.m. 22
Monday 2/13/23 7:30 p.m. Lucy Loves Desi: A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Sitcom is the hilarious and true story behind one of America’s most beloved TV comedies. Lucille Ball paved the way for many of today’s top comediennes, while forcing Hollywood to begin dealing with the rising power and influence of women artists both on-screen and behind the scenes. Her iconic series, I Love Lucy, remains one of the most groundbreaking and influential shows in television history. Playwright Gregg Oppenheimer—son of I Love Lucy creator Jess Oppenheimer— spins this witty, fast-paced tale of Lucy and Desi’s battles with CBS over the pioneering ideas that changed the face of television forever. 23
In 1972, a group of young artists made history by creating an orchestra without a conductor in which musicians led themselves democratically. Since then, the Grammy award-winning Orpheus Chamber Orchestra has recorded over 70 albums on all major classical labels, toured to 46 countries across four continents, and collaborated with hundreds of world-class soloists. Orpheus’ 34-member musicians work together as a collective and rotate leadership roles for all works performed, giving flight to unconventional interpretations. Combining exceptional lyricism and insight with consummate technique, Alessio Bax is without a doubt “among the most remarkable young pianists now before the public” (Gramophone). Awarded the Avery Fisher Career Grant in 2009, he catapulted to prominence with First Prize wins at both the Leeds and Hamamatsu International Piano Competitions, and is now a familiar face on five continents, not only as a recitalist and chamber musician, but also as a concerto soloist who has appeared with more than 150 orchestras, including the London, Royal, and St. Petersburg Philharmonic Orchestras, the New York, Boston, Dallas, Cincinnati, Seattle, Sydney, and City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestras, and the NHK Symphony in Japan, collaborating with such eminent conductors as Marin Alsop, Vladimir Ashkenazy, Sir Andrew Davis, Fabio Luisi, Sir Simon Rattle, Yuri Temirkanov, and Jaap van Zweden. He was invited to join the piano faculty of Boston’s New England Conservatory in the fall of 2019.
