The American Academy of Nursing’s 2021 Policy Conference will focus
on how nurses are transforming health and building a better care
delivery system for all people by establishing trust and promoting
ABOUT health equity. The conference will showcase the extraordinary work of
nurses and experts in the field who are driving policy changes to meet
OUR the health needs of individuals and populations, and highlight nursing
initiatives that are transforming care, leading change, and influencing
CONFERENCE policy makers to ultimately improve global health.
WHO WE ARE
The American Academy of Nursing is composed of more than 2,900 top
nursing leaders and decision-makers in education, practice,
management, and research, known as Fellows. Founded in 1973, the
mission of the Academy is to improve health and achieve health equity
by impacting policy through nursing leadership, innovation, and
science. Not only does selection into the fellowship by one’s peers
afford high recognition, it provides opportunities to collaborate with
other top health leaders in addressing critical issues. Purposeful
networking is facilitated through Expert Panels, Committees, the
Academy’s signature initiatives, the Institute of Nursing Leadership,
Edge Runners, the Council for the Advancement of Nursing Science, as
well as, the National Academy of Medicine Distinguished Scholar-in-
Residence program, and publication in the official journal of the
Academy, Nursing Outlook.
CONFERENCE STRUCTURE
Based on the guidelines set by the District of Columbia’s Department of
Health and CDC, it remains possible that there could be an in-person
hybrid model. Depending on the structure of the conference, we will
work with you as quickly as possible to amend the sponsorship details.
It is anticipated that this decision will be made in June/July 2021 on the
delivery method.
