2021 National Jamboree Ultimate Adventure - Washington DC & Morgantown Friday, July 16, 2021 • Welcome to Washington, D.C! Rendezvous with your Blue Sky Adventures tour guide. We will be waiting for you when you land and we will get you underway as quickly as possible. • Check in at a great hotel near the Smithsonian Air & Space Museum! Relax and settle in after your long day of travel. Enjoy the pool or take a quick nap before dinner. • Pizza Party at the hotel. Great food to satisfy Scouts of all ages. • Enjoy the rest of the evening at the hotel. Rest up! Saturday, July 17, 2021 • Rise and shine! We have another full day of sightseeing in your Nation’s Capitol. • Hot all you can eat breakfast buffet at the hotel at 7 AM. • Our first stop is the home of the President of the United States, the world famous White House! We will make a brief stop for pictures and see the White House Visitor Center. En route we will drive past the Washington Monument! • Next up visit the United Stated Capitol building Visitor Center. Enjoy the tour! • Lunch at the restaurant inside the Capitol! • Visit to the Ford Theatre
• Visit the National Archives to see the Declaration of Independence and the US Constitution! • Dinner at 6 PM the National Museum of American History. Chicken, lasagna, mashed potatoes, salad, garlic bread, and ice cream sandwiches for dessert! • Evening walk through the National Mall as we head back to the hotel for an some rest and relaxation after your long day in DC. Sunday, July 18, 2021 • Rise and shine! Time to experience your Nation’s Capitol. • Hot all you can eat breakfast buffet at the hotel at 7 AM. • Brief visit to the Iwo Jima Memorial near Arlington National Cemetery. • Morning visit to Arlington National Cemetery. • Visit to John F. Kennedy grave site. • Visit the tomb of the Unknown Soldier and see the changing of the guard. • Depart Arlington • Boxed lunch at the KC Cafe inside the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts. A Scout is Hungry! • Afternoon visit to the Vietnam Memorial, Lincoln Memorial, and Korean War Memorial. • Spend the remainder of the afternoon visiting the various Smithsonian Museums. Air and Space, Natural History, and Museum of American History. All within walking distance of our hotel! Take it all in! • Dinner at 6:30 PM in the foodcourt at the Smithsonian Air & Space Museum! • Head back to the hotel for an evening of rest and relaxation after your long day in DC.
Monday, July 19, 2021 • Rise and shine! Time to make tracks for Morgantown, WV! • Hot all you can eat breakfast buffet at the hotel. • Morning visit to the World War II Memorial, Jefferson Memorial, and MLK Memorial. • Before heading West we visit the Udvar - Hazy Air and Space Museum. See the Space Shuttle, Enola Gay, and other famous aircraft! • Lunch at the museum cafe before we head to West Virginia! • Check in at the Evansdale Residential Complex on the campus of West Virginia University. All participants will have their own bed and access to private bathrooms and showers. • All you can eat dinner at the dining facility on campus. Great food and plenty of variety to satisfy Scouts of all ages. • Enjoy the spectacular recreation center at WVU with a huge swimming pool, hot tub, 50 foot climbing wall, indoor bouldering cave, basketball, volleyball, racquetball, badminton, indoor track, and ping pong! What a day!! Tuesday, July 20, 2021 • Hot, all you can eat breakfast buffet-pancakes, eggs, sausage, fruit and more! • Morning rafting trip on the Lower Yough! The Lower Yough is 7.5 miles of Class III - IV whitewater rapids. It is considered a drop & pool river: the rapids are separated by calm deep pools, allowing you to catch your breath and enjoy the scenery. • Lunch at the Rafting Outfitter • Afternoon of Spelunking at Laurel Caverns! Laurel Caverns is a large natural cave. Most of the passage ceilings in its three mile labyrinth are between ten and twenty feet high (many as high as 50 feet) with an average width of over twelve
feet. This makes it the largest cave in Pennsylvania. The cave itself is situated beneath a 435 acre privately owned geological preserve. Because this property is at the top of Chestnut Ridge, all of the water that enters the cave is pristine. • All you can eat dinner at the dining facility on campus. Great food and plenty of variety to satisfy Scouts of all ages. • Enjoy the spectacular recreation center at WVU with a huge swimming pool, hot tub, 50 foot climbing wall, indoor bouldering cave, basketball, volleyball, racquetball, badminton, indoor track, and ping pong! What a day!! Wednesday, July 21, 2021 • Hot, all you can eat breakfast buffet-pancakes, eggs, sausage, fruit and more! • Depart by 7:30 AM for The Summit! • Make a quick stop at the Canyon Rim Visitor Center to see the longest single span bridge in the Western Hemisphere. The New River Bridge is a staggering 876 feet above the New River. • Arrive at Summit Bechtel Reserve by 11:00 AM to begin your 2017 National Jamboree experience! Friday, July 30, 2021 • 7:00 AM pick up at Summit Bechtel Reserve • Lunch en route. A Scout is Hungry! • You will arrive at a DC area Airport by 2:00 PM. To be safe, flight should depart after 5:00 PM. Alternatively, you can fly out of Pittsburgh or Charlotte if that is less expensive/easier for your Contingent.
