for Serving the Community 75 years! Seventy five years ago, the founders of Citizens Bank of Florida first opened our doors for business. They did so with a firm commitment to making a difference in the lives of those who would call us their banking home. Through the generations, the faces and names have changed, but our dedication to service- driven, relationship-based banking remains the cornerstone of our brand of banking, to the benefit of our customers and the communities we serve. We would welcome the opportunity to introduce you to true community banking at its best! For a complete list of locations and hours please visit www.mycbfl.com. ovied owinte rs prin g s.o rg 3
R EM A R KS PRESIDENT’S REMARKS Dear Members and Community, I have heard many people say that they can't wait for 2020 to be done. I don't blame them. 2020 was challenging for all of us and it is why our chamber opened some of our services to the entire community, as we saw the need to support the business community as a whole. As devastating as COVID-19 has been, it sparked the creativity for businesses to continue to progress, persevere, and position themselves to reinvent strategies which changed in real time. Sadly, some businesses have closed their doors for the last time. For others, including the Chamber, we faced, met, and exceeded this challenge. The creativity was, and is, electrifying and even the most grounded of businesses faced the jolt of this experience. In the midst of Covid-19, our flexibility and ingenuity resulted in an AWARD-WINNING Hob Nob, recognized by the Florida Association of Chamber Professionals as the Best Public Relations Program—Under $500,000 Category for our 100% Virtual Hob Nob, which was viewed and admired by thousands of participants. — Bridget Lake, President and CEO Oviedo-Winter Springs Regional We must also remember to stop, breathe, and look back with pride at the progress Chamber of Commerce achieved. Beyond the four walls of our own businesses, this experience has allowed our businesses to cheerlead each other, come together, bond, and support our community. Though physically distant, our collective efforts to succeed brought us closer together. Thank you for giving me the privilege of serving as the President and CEO of this amazing chamber. I promise to continue to stride forward, standing with our members to face challenges of all types that the future will inevitably bring. I am proud of our community. I’m proud to be a part of our community and most of all, I am proud to be an American. CHAIR’S REMARKS Dear OWSRCC Community, In 2013 after decades of selling technology throughout the country I wanted to do something local. I decided on real estate for a number of reasons: it allowed me to capitalize on my skills as a sales person, my experience in creating and running my own business and in negotiating complex contracts. The problem was I had been away from Central Florida for 30 years and had no network of local contacts to kick start a business that is based on referrals and trust. That’s when I joined the Chamber. I knew that in order to expand my network, in order to gain trust, I would need to give back. I volunteered for as many committees and events that I could fit into my schedule. And it worked. In 2016 I was invited to join the Board of Directors. I became Chair of the Economic Development Committee and in 2019 I was asked to join the executive team. In 2021 I have been nominated and elected to be the Chair. For the people that have had faith in me, I thank you. — Randy Perry, REALTOR®, Metro Realty Group and Chair of Board of For those that are looking to make a buck by joining the Chamber – well, I am proof! Not Directors, Oviedo-Winter Springs only have I met what I hope to be life-long friends, but I have gained customers as well. Regional Chamber of Commerce People that got to know me, saw how serious I was in trying to make the local business community succeed, and got to trust in me, asked me to represent them with their real estate needs. Thank you OWSRCC. 4 O v i e d o -Wi nte r Sp ri n g s Re g i o nal Cham b e r of Comm erce
