CNHP DRESSAGE SHOW 2021 AN NSEF SCOTIA SERIES COMPETITION In accordance with the NSEF Scotia Series rules, competitors competing in the Scotia Series Circuit must be members of NSEF. FUNDS CAN BE TRANSFERRED TO cnhp76@gmail.com Entries can either be mailed, emailed ( smorehouse@eastlink.ca) or sent by courier (recommended to avoid the late fee). Ride time will be posted at www.cnhp.ca under Show Schedule on July 27th, 2016 CNHP GENERAL RULES & CONDITIONS OF ENTRY 1. ENTRIES: a) Any entry form not properly completed will be subjected to a $10.00 incomplete fee. You will be notified by email and the fee will be paid to the show secretary the day of the show. b) Your current PSO membership – please provide a photocopy c) Entries will be processed through the Horsesport.pro program with the NSEF. Entries must be accompanied by e-transfer payment. A late fee of $25.00 per show to entries received after the closing date will be charged. If the late fee is not paid to the show secretary then the entry will be declined. There is no guarantee that late entries will be accepted. d) All entries must be accompanied by a waiver of liability signed and dated with the name and signature of the exhibitor e) E-transfer is available for payment of entries. Funds can be transferred to cnhp76@gmail.com. f) The show committee reserves the right to limit the entries if necessary. 2. CANCELLATION: Competitors canceling after the official closing date will be refunded 50% of the entry fees and stabling costs upon receipt of a veterinarian’s certificate of disability or a doctor's certificate within 10 days of the last day of the competition. 3. ARRIVAL: If horses are arriving the night before the competition, please stable in the designated stalls. All competitors are expected to report to the Show Secretary at the show office the morning of the competition to confirm that all is in order with your entry forms and classes and to pick up your show number. The show office will be open one hour before the show starts on Saturday and Sunday. We encourage all competitors to stay for the duration of the show and participate in the Awards ceremony.
4. SHOW SCHEDULE: Competitions generally start between 8 and 8:30 am and continue until completion of the classes based on entries. There will be scheduled 10-15 minute breaks mid-morning and mid- afternoon with a 30 minute to one hour break at lunch. Classes generally start with the lower levels and progress to higher levels but show management reserves the right to schedule classes in some other order. 5. BRIDLE NUMBER: Must be worn and visible at all times during the show weekend at all times. This includes familiarization of horses to the facilities, walking the horse around ring one half hour prior to start of show and during the Friday evening reserved practice ride. There is a $5.00 returnable deposit for the bridle number. Please return the number once you have completed the Competition. 6. APPROVED HEADGEAR: ASTM/SEI or BSI/BS EN approved headgear, with the safety harness correctly secured at all times, must be worn by all riders showing, regardless of age, level or competition, when mounted at a Dressage competition at the event location. 7. CROSS-ENTERING: More than one rider may ride the same horse/pony at a competition providing the horse/pony is not entered by two or more riders in the same class. (e.g. A horse/pony may enter First Level with a Junior in the Junior and/or open category. The same horse/pony with a senior rider may enter Second Level in the Adult Amateur and/or Open Category in the next consecutive Level). The horse/pony must not compete against itself. The horse may compete at any level up to a maximum of four tests per day and no more than two consecutive levels. 8. SUBSTITUTIONS: A horse/pony may compete with a substitute athlete providing the athlete is eligible to enter the class. An athlete may compete with a substitute horse/pony providing the horse/pony is eligible to enter the class. There is no substitution fee. Organizers must assign a new number to a substitute horse/rider if the substitution takes place after the original entry has been assigned a number. Show organizers are not obliged to allow substitute entries. When qualifying criteria apply to a horse/rider combination entered in a class, no substitution of horse or athlete may be made. 9. STABLING: a) A mandatory stabling fee will be charged per horse. The stabling fee does not include bedding. Stalls will be assigned. Straight stalls are available for use as Tack Stalls. Fee included with stall. STALLS ARE TO BE THOROUGHLY CLEANED OUT before leaving the show grounds. PLEASE HELP THE SHOW VOLUNTEERS OUT BY RESPECTING THIS REQUEST! b) Any overnight camping on the grounds by competitors is permitted at your own risk. However, power hookup is NOT available. Grounds security is NOT provided by the horse show, and each exhibitor is responsible for securing their own belongings. c) Please dump manure only in the designated area. Manure will be composted, so do not put garbage in with it. Please place in designated garbage bins and please recycle your beverage containers and other recyclables in the provided bins. 10. WARM UP: Horses may be schooled only in the designated warm up area during competition. Running martingales, boots and bandages are allowed for schooling. The bridle number must be worn at all times during the show. All riders are required to wear their helmet at all times. Lunging is not permitted in the warm up ring due to the restricted size, nor is it permitted in the parking area due to safety reasons. However, we are offering an additional ring for those wanting to lunge. Although it is close to the main competition area, it is not within sight so directional signage will be place. 11. RING: Early opening Friday from 7:00PM until dusk allows exhibiting horses to be ridden or hand walked in the ring, providing the ring is up and ready by then. A 20 minute time limit is permitted, 2 horse/riders at a time. First come, first served basis. Please respect the other riders. Your Bridle number is required to be worn at all times. Outside of this time, competition hours, and scheduled schooling, the Dressage Ring IS CLOSED.
12. HORS CONCOURS ENTRIES: Hors Concours entries will be offered at this competition, time permitting. 14. DIRECTIONS: From New Glasgow/Antigonish/Cape Breton: Take Exit 17, bottom of off ramp turn LEFT, go under overpass, take first LEFT onto Salmon River Road. From Halifax: off #102 you will go RIGHT onto #104 heading towards New Glasgow, take exit 17, bottom of ramp turn RIGHT, go short distance to intersection, go STRAIGHT through onto Salmon River Road. From NB, PEI: same as from Halifax. Once on Salmon River Road follow road sign about 5km bringing you onto a new bridge that intersects with Greenfield Road – you will see Fundy Vets across the road – turn RIGHT at this STOP sign. Stay on this road until you see the Farmers Cheese Factory on your right, look for a large RED building to your LEFT (Hub Well Drilling), Turn LEFT right after the building, over the rail tracks to the stop sign. Turn LEFT onto the dirt road which leads to the Show Grounds. AWARDS 1. Ribbons are awarded to sixth place. 2. Any horse receiving less than 40% will be eliminated from that class. 3. Any horse receiving less than 50% in any class shall not be eligible for awards, ribbons or prizes. 4. When there is only one horse in the class, ribbons and prizes shall be awarded in accordance with the following percentages: 1st place - 60% or higher; 2nd place - 57% to 59.9%; 3rd place - 54% to 56.9%; 4th place - 51% - 53.9%. 5. In the event of a tie, the rider with the highest total points shall be declared the winner. When collective marks are tied, the horses shall remain tied. HIGH POINT OVERALL SHOW CHAMPION AND RESERVE CHAMPION PRIZES AND RIBBONS: Awarded to the riders with the highest total score for both days (Total of four scores - the two highest scores on Saturday and the two highest scores on Sunday).
