COVID SAFE - RETURN TO RACING FINISH LINE/RECOVERY ❑ Relay Teams - Only the team runner will be permitted down the finish line. ❑ Athletes are asked to engage in contactless finish line celebrations. ❑ Medals and towels will be available for contactless collection by athletes. ❑ Hydration and nutrition products will be provided in single serve or original packaging takeaway options and spaced on tables for contactless collection by athletes. ❑ Athletes will be asked to remove their own timing chip. ❑ Athletes are asked to leave the event site as soon as possible to reduce density in this area. PRESENTATIONS ❑ Athlete Awards will be collected at Event Information during scheduled times. WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP QUALIFYING ROLL DOWN ❑ The 2021 IRONMAN 70.3 Geelong will have 50 slots plus 25 Women for Tri slots to the 2021 IRONMAN 70.3 World Championship held in St George, Utah, USA, 17-18 September 2021. ❑ During Athlete Check-In you will be asked to ‘opt in’ and confirm you intend to accept a slot should you qualify for the IRONMAN 70.3 World Championship. ❑ If you are successful in obtaining a Qualification slot, we will be in contact 24hrs after the race to advise. You have 48hrs to complete your registration and pay the registration fee. If you do not complete the registration within 48hrs, the slot will roll down. ❑ You cannot change your mind after Athlete Check-In, therefore if you are unsure, its better to ‘opt in’. SPECTATORS In 2021 we are asking spectators not to attend the event. However, support persons and dependents are asked to please support and participate in all COVID Safe measures outlined in the Athlete Information Guide. Key detail includes; ❑ Stay home if they or somebody they know are in contact with is sick. ❑ Download and turn on the Commonwealth Government COVID-19 app prior to attending the event. ❑ Avoid or minimize time at areas of high density e.g. Athlete Check-in, Transition, Swim Start and Finish Line / Recovery. ❑ Regularly clean hands at hand wash and sanitation stations when onsite at event. ❑ We are also asking any person who enters the event area, whether they are involved with the event or not, to check in via the Service Victoria QR Code Check In Application. ❑QR Codes will be posted around the area to assist with this. 7
RACE RULES The event is sanctioned by Triathlon Australia Section 5.02 Equipment and race under IRONMAN Race Rules. PRE RACE INFORMATION VENUE ATHLETE CHECK-IN Will be located on Steampacket Gardens. We will be operating Check-In by appointment only. You will receive an email three weeks from race day with a link to book these times. All packs will need to be collected during Athlete Check-In opening hours. Please note, no packs will be posted out prior to the event. ROKA SWIM COURSE 1.9km SWIM SAFETY Water safety personnel and craft will be located on the water during the swim. They will have relevant equipment and are there to support you should you require. At any time should you require the assistance of water safety please raise one arm into the air and they will come to your aid. Should at any point in time you decide to abandon the swim, you will be taken to one of the swim extraction points. At this point in time, if required you will be checked over by medical and your timing band removed. If your timing band has been removed, do not attempt to re-enter the race. HOKA RUN COURSE 21.1km Cut off – 8 hours from athlete’s individuals start time. LAPBANDS On each lap of the run course, athletes will be required to go through a “lap band collection point”. At this point athletes will collect a different coloured lap band based on what number lap they are currently on. The colour of lap band you’re required to grab will be displayed on a sign. i.e. “First lap = Red”.
