United Performing Arts Fund Mission • UPAF, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, is essential to preserving a vibrant performing arts scene in Southeastern Wisconsin. As the largest donor to all of its Member Groups, UPAF ensures not only their vitality, but also their sustainability. • The UPAF mission statement is three-fold: • Raise much-needed funds to ensure entertainment excellence • Promote the performing arts as a regional asset • Responsibly steward the dollars our donors so generously give us

Role of the WPG Ambassador UPAF Ambassadors are key to the success for the annual Workplace Giving Campaign. During the campaign period Ambassadors will engage co-workers by planning, organizing and running a successful UPAF workplace giving campaign. As an ambassador you will provide your colleagues with an opportunity to make an informed choice about charitable giving. Who We Support UPAF is an umbrella organization whose support allows 14 Member Groups, including First Stage, Florentine Opera Company, Milwaukee Ballet, Milwaukee Repertory Theater, Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra and Skylight Music Theatre, to focus more of their efforts on what they do best – creating, performing, educating and inspiring. Cornerstone Groups were the first organizations to receive UPAF support when it began in 1967.

UPAF strongly believes everyone should have the chance to experience the magic of music, dance and theater. UPAF partners with 22 local nonprofits to bring the power of the performing arts to individuals and families that do not have easy access to these cultural assets. A recent study revealed high engagement with UPAF Connect events and an appreciation of arts experiences that were reflective of communities, families and personal values. UPAF Connect enhances the efforts of its nonprofit partners. The program surpassed its goals of increasing collaboration and partnership, internal capacity building and outreach and community access by 40%. 13
UPAF Bright Minds is an outreach program that delivers high-quality arts education programming to children throughout Southeastern Wisconsin. Examples of impact through UPAF Bright Minds: • First Stage Theater Academy awarded over 700 scholarships and provided free transportation. • Florentine Opera Company’s Opera in the Schools reached 16,000 students. • Milwaukee Youth Symphony Orchestra (MYSO) provided 430 3rd graders with an instrument and lessons twice a week. In 2018, UPAF Bright Minds raised $672,500, reaching 100,000 children with the majority coming from underserved families.

UPAF Workplace Giving Campaign Goals Increase Workplace Giving Campaign donations by: 1. Engaging leadership and co-workers to participate and donate to UPAF. 2. Promoting $100+ donation to get the most for their donation. 3. Reward Ambassadors who meet their goals. ▪ **NEW - Ambassadors that increase their total participants and total amount raised over 2018 totals will be rewarded with a voucher for 2 tickets to the UPAF Member performance of their choice. ▪ Award at the end of the campaign for the top 3 Most Creative Campaigns. Top prize is Southwest Airlines tickets, value $500. 17

IMPACT $2 a week or $100 yearly commitment **SMART CARD Benefits** • A piece of music for a Bel Canto Chorus member for one concert • One cash prize to a young playwright in Milwaukee Chamber Theatre’s YPF Playwriting Competition • Four pair of tap shoes for a Danceworks Mad Hot Ballroom and Top student • Tickets for 12 students to attend one Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra “Concerts for Schools” performance. • Two instruments for a Milwaukee Youth Symphony Orchestra Scholar in their Waukesha Strings initiative • Setting the Stage pre-show workshop at First Stage for 30 children $6 a week or $300 yearly commitment – Double SMART CARD benefits! • Fees for two guest dancers in a Danceworks Performance Company concert • Tuition for a 2nd grade student to participate in a week-long summer Theater Academy session at First Stage. 19

Collecting and Processing Pledge cards and Donations Upon the completion of your campaign place all donations and pledge cards in the Workplace Giving envelope and notify your LE that the envelope is ready and available for pickup. Envelope contents may contain: o Cash o Checks o Pledge forms o Employee lists o Special event money o If a special event has been dedicated to UPAF Connect, a separate campaign envelope will need to be filled out in order to designate those dollars. 30
