BEIJING EXTENSION

    Transfer from Hotel to Hongqiao Station. Our guide will assist you to board the train.
    High-speed Train to Beijing in 5 hours (1318KM or 823 miles).
    Arrive Beijing in the afternoon and transfer to the hotel. Free time for the rest of the day.

  ❖ Nov. 19 Tuesday - Beijing
    Meals: Buffet breakfast in hotel, lunch in local restaurant, dinner in your own

    • Tiananmen Square: The largest city-center square in the world.
    • Forbidden City: Also known as Imperial Palace, it was the ritual center of two
   dynasties, the Ming (1368-1644) and the Qing (1644-1911). Twenty-four emperors lived
   here and ruled China for more than 500 years.

• Summer Palace: The construction of the Summer Palace first started in the Qing
  Dynasty during the Emperor Qianlong. With supreme power and large sums of money,
  skillful and ingenious artisans from all over the country to carry out this construction
  work in honor of his mother’s birthday. After 15 years and one seventh of the nation’s
  annual revenue spent, it was completed and named by the emperor as the Garden of
  Clear Ripples. It served as a testimony to China’s scientific and technological
  achievements.

❖ Nov. 20 Wednesday - Beijing
  Meals: Buffet breakfast in hotel; Lunch; Peking Roasted Duck dinner
  Sightseeing:
  • Temple of Heaven: The Temple of Heaven was the place where the Emperors of the
 Ming (1368-1644) and Qing (1644-1911) would worship God of Heaven and pray for
 prosperity for the whole nation. Now it is Temple of Heaven Park, a nice public park for
 both travelers and local people.

• Great Wall: In c. 220 B.C., under Qin Shi Huang, the first Chinese emperor ever,
    sections of earlier fortifications were joined together to form a united defense system
    against invasions from the north. Construction continued up to the Ming dynasty
    (1368-1644), when the Great Wall became the world’s largest military structure. The
    great Wall is the world’s longest manmade structure approximately 6,400 km (4,000
    miles) long. After Great Wall, enjoy Peking Duck Dinner.

  144-hour visa-free transit policy
  You do not have to have a Chinese via to run Shanghai Marathon. You can stay in
Shanghai for up to 6 days if meet the following all of the following three conditions:

  A. You are passport holder of one of the following 51 countries:

  ➢ Schengen Countries: Austria, Belgium, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland,
France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta,
Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden. Switzerland

  ➢ Other European Countries: Albania, Bulgaria, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Cyprus,
Croatia, Ireland, Macedonia, Republic of Montenegro, Romania, Russia, Serbia, UK,
Ukraine

  ➢ America: US, Canada, Brazil, Mexico, Argentina, Chile

  ➢ Oceania: Australia, New Zealand

  B. You have valid air tickets with confirmed seat in the next 144 hours to

C. You enter China via one of the following ports of entry, and your port of
departure is any of the following (it does not have to be the same as port of

  Chinese visa
  If you do not meet the above conditions, or if you wish to travel to China with a valid visa,
you should apply for the Chinese visa in the nearest Chinese embassy or consulate.

  For ordinary passport holders of Singapore, Brunei and Japan, you are exempt from the
visa if you visit the mainland of China for tourism, business, or visiting friends and relatives,
and stay no longer than 15 days. A visa is required for any tour longer than 15 days.

  American, Canadian and Australian passport holders can get multiple-entry Chinese visas
valid for 10 years. In order to qualify for 10 year visas, the passport holders must have more
than 1 year validity remaining on their passport. Once a 10-year visa has been issued, the
validity of the visa does not expire if the holder renews his/her passport. The visa holder can
travel carrying the old passport with valid Chinese visa along with the new passport.
