Our dedicated staff are the heart of our business – they are all specially trained to manoeuvre boats, so customers can be assured that their boat is in safe hands. As we are located in a bay, we are slightly affected by the tides. When the water falls below 1m, generally one hour either side of low water, we do not launch boats. With Poole Harbour’s double high tides and by checking the tides before arriving at the marina, it is easy to plan to avoid the short time when the water falls below 1m. Customers can check the tides by visiting our website at www.parkstonebay.com and going to the ‘Useful Information’ section, which gives daily local weather and tidal information 7 days in advance. Fuelling your boat on dry berthing We offer a free mid-week fuelling service to boats on our dry berthing trailers. This allows customers to arrange for their boats to be fuelled prior to arriving at the marina, saving time at the weekend and allowing for more on-the-water fun! To take advantage of this service, call the marina office during the week giving your name, boat name, type of fuel and estimated litres required. We will need your payment card details at this stage to take a pre-authorisation of an agreed amount. Once the boat has been fuelled, we will complete the payment transaction and email a receipted invoice for your records. www.parkstonebay.com 7
Dry Berthing a simple procedure 1 1. When you arrive at the marina – park your car in the car park and use one of our trolleys from outside the café building to load your gear straight into your boat. 2 2. Prepare your boat for launching – remove any boat covers, check your bung is in and lines and fenders are out on the port side. Finally, check that nothing is attached to the trailer and that your outboards / legs are in the down position – and where applicable your trim tabs and boarding ladders are in the up position. 3 3. When you are ready to be launched – write your trailer number on the whiteboard located on the end of the dry berth racking. Our staff will collect your boat in turn and launch her to the pontoon. 4 4. Proceed along the pontoon walkways – to the ‘launch pontoon’ and wait for your boat to arrive. As a courtesy to other boat owners, we ask that you are ready and able to take charge of your boat as soon as it is in the water. 5 5. Once you have taken charge of your boat – either depart straight away or move along to the ‘waiting pontoon’ where there should be space for you to make any last minute preparations and take passengers on board.
