1 2018 Clinton County Fair Honorees Traditionally, the Clinton County Agricultural Society Board of Directors has selected a Fair Honoree. This award was established to recognize and honor individuals, families, and businesses who have positively affected the Ag Society, Fairgrounds, and Fair Activities. In 2018, the Directors of the Ag Society decided to break the fair honoree program into two sections for individuals/families and businesses. We are pleased to announce the honors for 2018. We appreciate these honorees’ service and support to the Clinton County Agricultural Society, Fair Activities and to our Community. Please join us on Friday, July 13, 2018 at 6:45pm before the Truck & Tractor pulls in front of the Grandstand to recognize the 2018 Fair Honorees. Individual Honoree – Barb Davis In a recent interview, Barb Davis said she has been a volunteer at the Clinton County Fair for more years than she can remember. Barb’s focus at the fair has been with home economics working with Department 7 Baked Goods, Canned Goods, Handcrafts, and Needlecrafts, and we appreciate her dedication to the Clinton County Fair. Working in this area at the fair comes natural to Barb as home economics was important and necessary in her upbringing. Barb participated in 4-H and a memorable experience was winning the best in show award at the fair with her cherry pie! Even now, when time allows, Barb competes at the fair as she loves to bake. In asking Barb about being involved at the fair and donating her time, Barb said she loves to see kids learn and participate at the fair; therefore, Barb encouraged her children to participate in 4-H and FFA through their youth years. Not only does Barb donate her at the fair, she currently serves on the Board of the Clinton County Senior Citizens, working with food vendors at the Clinton County Corn Festival and over the years prepared many steak sandwiches for the Beta Sigma Phi Sorority. When you see Barb out and about, please congratulate her on this recognition and thank her for her many years of service to the Clinton County Fair and our community. Business Honoree – Linndale Equipment Don & Miriam Speaight, Owners 40 South Webb Road, Wilmington, OH 45177 Phone: 937-382-4549 Linndale Equipment is a family owned and operated business established in the early 1980’s. The business was built around Don’s strong interest in no-till farming and his willingness to share his knowledge and experiences related to soil conservation on their farm. Today, Linndale Equipment has two locations in Clinton and Greene countries. Linndale Equipment’s website states, ‘Our desire is to offer our customers quality tools to accomplish their work and friendly service to back it up’. This company has extended the offer to the Ag Society by donating their equipment and services to events and general work at the Clinton County Fairgrounds.

20 FEATURED ENTERTAINMENT Richard Lynch Band Multiple Award Winning, Radio Chart Topping, Independent Country Music Hall of Fame Inductee, RICHARD LYNCH You’d be hard-pressed to find a musician as authentic as Richard Lynch, whose traditional country music fully embodies his hay-raising, farm-dwelling lifestyle. An all-American, blue collar country man, Lynch has poured his heart and soul into the countless chart-topping hits he and his band have produced. His music is 100% real country, evoking some of the great classics who influenced him, like Keith Whitley. Conway Twitty, and George Strait. For three decades and counting, Lynch has written, sung, and performed his songs with passion and dedication, building himself up into an independent country music sensation. While his musical roots are grounded in pure country, his songs also showcase elements of western swing, honky tonk and outlaw country.

25 FEATURED ENTERTAINMENT Alyssa Oeder ALYSSA OEDER Alyssa Oeder was born and raised in the small town of Morrow, Ohio. She is a recent graduate of Miami University with a Bachelor’s in Biology. At a young age she developed a love for country music. Alyssa would sit and play with her Grandpa who, in his younger years played many times with the Isaacs. Her Grandpa introduced her to her first guitar and she developed what is now a lifelong passion of singing and songwriting. Through her teen years she played and won some local talent shows and started to gather a small following of local people. She was part of a local songwriters group and entered various songwriting contests with their material. From there she began to open for some well-known local bands such as the Richard Lynch Band. Those shows led to opening for larger National acts like Doug Supernaw, Buddy Jewel and Confederate Railroad. She began performing some of her own material and was rewarded with how much her music impacted her audience. In January of 2017 Alyssa was fortunate enough to have had the opportunity to record her first professional album in Nashville produced by Billy Yates. He is known for writing and producing for acts such as George Jones, Kenny Chesney, Sara Evans, Chris Young and various other artists. Alyssa’s album was heavily influenced by traditional country music mixed with her own unique sound. This was a full 12 track album which contained 5 original songs, including the title track, “The Bottle or Me”, which she is most proud of. You can check out
