Show Safety
                Tyrone Farming Society will operate a
                        Code of Safety Practice
                      to ensure that animals are
       confined to designated areas and kept under supervision
                             at all times.

          It is essential that visitors share safety responsibility
                      and that they respond by playing
              their part in keeping children at a safe distance
                      from all animals and machinery.

Total commitment to safety from competitors, exhibitors and visitors and
                   their co-operation with the Stewards
                      will ensure that there is no
           accident or mishap to spoil their enjoyment and
                       the success of the Show.

             Whilst every care is taken in the organisation
               of the Omagh Show, the Tyrone Farming
            Society cannot accept any liability whatsoever
           for any accident, injury or loss sustained by any
     person attending the Show in any capacity, however caused.

NOTE: Horticultural and Home Industries – entries will be received
on Friday, 1 July 2022, 3 00 pm to 8 00 pm. Judging will take place
on Saturday, 9 30 am sharp. Presentation for Cup Winners,
Saturday, 3 30 pm.
Winners of Free Draw and Children’s Competition will be announced
on Saturday at 4 00 pm in Home Industries Marquee.

HORTICULTURAL AND HOME INDUSTRIES
                Points in each Class are awarded as follows:

RULES

1   The Competition in this Section will be OPEN unless where otherwise
    specified.

2   ALL ENTRIES MUST BE THE WORK OF THE EXHIBITOR.

3   A competitor may enter any number of exhibits in any one Class but no
    competitor may gain more than one award in any one Class.

4   Reasonable care will be taken of all articles exhibited, but the Society will not
    be accountable for any loss, damage, or injury that may occur to any exhibit or
    personal property before, during or after the Show. The Society will take a
    serious view of persons seen to be tampering with exhibits and will deal
    with them accordingly.

5   All people entering the Exhibition Hall are subject to the direction of all
    Stewards or Secretary.

6   Dogs must be on leads at all times in Home Industries Marquee.

7   No person will be permitted to interfere with or crowd round the Judge when
    adjudicating. Exhibitors so doing will forfeit all claims to prizes.

8   The decision of the Judges as to the merits of exhibits shall in all cases be
    final. Objections to a Competitor on the ground that he/she is not qualified to
    enter in a certain class will be considered if lodged in writing with the
    Secretary, together with a fee of £10.00, at or before 3 00 o’clock on Saturday.
    This fee will be returned if a valid objection is sustained; otherwise it will be
    forfeited to Funds of Show.

9   Should any matter arise not provided for in the purview of these Rules and
    Regulations, such matter shall be referred to the Committee, whose decision
    shall be final and binding, no appeal to law in any case being permitted.

10 The Exhibition Hall will be opened, and allocated space will be ready for
   exhibitors to begin staging on Friday, 1 July 2022, 3 00 pm – 8 00 pm.

11 Prize money may be collected by 4 30 pm on Saturday, at the Home
   Industries Stand. All prize money not collected within 3 months of Show
   day will be returned to Tyrone Farming Society’s Funds. Exhibits may be
   collected after 4 30 pm and no later than 6 00 pm.

    (A) Any piece of handcraft excluding Knitting, Crochet & Embroidery.

2. Exhibitors may qualify once only
3. In the event of an objection and following an investigation, and if the
   exhibitor is deemed to be making their living from their profession, they
   may be disqualified.

5. This competition will be judged on a points system.
6. Points will be awarded for presentation.
7. The judge’s decision is final for all stages of the competition

   The Odlum’s All Ireland Home Baking Championship

RULES AND CONDITIONS

Each exhibitor to bake all items using recipes found on the Odlum’s website
and Odlum’s products must be used: Please see items below:
A. Decorated Chocolate Victoria Sandwich—2 x 20 cm/8”
B. Mozzarella and Tomato Tarts—2 x 13 cms/6” rounds
C. Iced Lemon and Poppy Seed Traybakes—1½”/4cm deep and approx.6”/13
cm x 4”/10 cm
N.B. All recipes can be found on the Odlum's website.
1 Items to be displayed on individual plates and each exhibitor will be
    allotted their own space (trays optional) on a base 24” Square.
2 Points will be awarded for taste, texture, appearance of baked items and
    presentation.
3 The competition is confined to amateurs, both male and female, with one
    entry per exhibitor at the final.
4 The items must be fresh and home baked by exhibitor.
5 A special class will be held at each qualifying show. Two entries may
    qualify from these shows for the final, if judges agree that the standard is
    high enough. The Qualifiers from each of these shows will go forward to
    the final, to be held at the Tullamore Show, on Sunday 14 August.
6 Non-adherence to tray size will deem elimination of exhibit.
7 All items will be cut and/or sampled by the Judge.
8 Each of the successful qualifiers will receive a hamper containing Odlum's
    products, on appearance at the final.
9 Certificates will be awarded to the finalists.
10 The judge’s decisions at all stages of the competition IS FINAL.
11 Exhibits are displayed at owner’s risk. These rules should be read in
   conjunction with the Irish Shows Association Rules.

Marquee open from 7 30 am on Show morning and will be closed for judging
at 10 00 am sharp. Marquee will be open to the public at 12 00 noon and
exhibits may not be removed before 5 00 pm.

2   The Items to be displayed as one exhibit on a base of 2ft x2ft approx.
3   Points will be awarded for texture taste, and presentation.
4   Competition is open to amateurs, male/female, and one tray to qualify per
    exhibitor.
5   All items to be home made by the exhibitor.
6   In the event of an objection and following an investigation, and if the
    exhibitor is deemed to be making their living from their profession, they
    maybe disqualified.
7   A SuperValu Flour wrapper to be displayed with the exhibit.
8   A special qualifying class will be held at selected shows.
9   Two trays may qualify for the final, if judges agree that the standard is high
    enough.
10  Judge’s decision will be final at all stages of the competition.

RULES AND CONDITIONS
1  Paintings must be the sole work of the exhibitor who must have amateur
   status.
2 Paintings to epict an Agricultural or Rural setting.
3 Paintings must measure no more than 24”X 20” including the frame.
4 All Paintings must be ready to hang, that is framed and with a hanging
   cord attached.
5 The Judge’s decision will be final.
6 All entries will be exhibited at owner’s risk.
7 All entries to have amateur status as defined by the following:
   (A) Not to have had a commercial solo exhibition,
   (B) Not to have exhibited in a commercial gallery,
   (C) Not to be teaching or have taught art in any form.
8 In the event of an objection and following an investigation, and if the
   exhibitor is deemed to be making their living from their profession, they
   may be disqualified.
9 Maximum of two exhibits only from any one exhibitor can qualify
10 Qualifying exhibit(s) to be photographed by the relevant qualifying show
   Secretaries to forward same to the National Secretary in advance of the

11 The same painting that qualifies at the qualifying show must be exhibited

foliage may be used in this section, except where otherwise stated. Exhibits may
not exceed the dimensions given, but may be smaller and except where specified,

material used as part of the exhibit, except bases, containers and drapes.
Driftwood is not an accessory. Where possible it would be appreciated if
accessories were secured to the exhibit.

TYRONE CONSTITUTION PERPETUAL TROPHY for Public Speaking will be
awarded to Top Public Speaker.
All entries in this Section to be clearly marked with name, age, schedule class and
school, and must be the work of the child, with minimal teacher intervention.
Entries should be submitted to the Showgrounds’ Office, 3 Gillygooley Road,
Omagh, on Monday, 3 June 2019, between 3 00 pm and 5 30 pm. Judging in this
Section will take place prior to the Show and the best exhibits will be on display.
Teachers and parents should co-operate in the collection of exhibits after
the Show on Saturday 2 July 2022 from 4 30 pm and will be required to sign
for items collected. Should collection on Show day not be practicable,
alternative arrangements must be made with the Show Office. All exhibits
not claimed by Monday 19 September 2022 will be disposed of by Tyrone
Farming Society.

       RULES FOR THE COMPETITION
1 Entrants shall copy, in script or joined writing, the Bible portion
    Matthew Chapter 5 Verses 3 – 10, from

The New International Version (NIV)
The Good News Bible
or
The Authorised Version (AV).

2 Entries shall be in ink on a single sheet of A4 paper, ruled or
    plain, with a margin. P5 pupils may use pencil, if desired.

3 All entrants must be in the Key Stage 2 age group.

4 The Carson Shield will be awarded to the entrant with the best
    writing and will be held for one year.

5 The Judges will mark for good letter formation, accuracy,
    consistency of style, neatness and spacing.

6 Prizes will be awarded to the top 3 entries.

7 The decision of the Judges will be final.

                      RULES FOR THE COMPETITION
Entries will be accepted at the Office in TFS Showgrounds, 3 Gillygooley
Road, Omagh on or before Tuesday 3 May 2022 and no later than 5 00
pm. Entries may also be emailed to info@tyronefarmingsociety.co.uk
prior to this date.
Entries are free for the 2022 competition.
Competitors will be judged on Friday 6 May 2022 with the competition
commencing at 10 00 am in the Committee Room, TFS Showgrounds, 3
Gillygooley Road, Omagh. Light refreshments will be available for all
competitors.
Competitors shall deliver a prepared speech will the maximum delivery time
of 3 minutes from one of

the                                                                subjects
listed below:
1 ‘How to make Omagh Agricultural Show a bigger attraction for all’.
2 ‘Education versus Experience’.
3 ‘Staycation or Vacation?’
4 ‘Those were the days, my friend . . . ’.
5 ‘Cyclists should pay to use the roads’.
All Entrants must be in the Key Stage 3 age group with a maximum of 3
competitors from each school.
Entrants will be judged using the following criteria:
Marking Scale, Timing and Penalties:
Platform manner, General Effect and Use of Notes         30%
Voice Production and Delivery                   20%
Content and Marshalling of Facts                    50%.
The Tyrone Constitution Perpetual Trophy will be awarded to the top
Public Speaker and will be held for one year.
            Prizes will be awarded to the top 4 entrants.

            The top 2 entrant will be invited to deliver their speeches
            to the Society at the annual Pre-Show Reception in the
            Silverbirch Hotel and Business Centre on Wednesday 5
            June 2019.
                    The Judges’ decision will be Final.
