165 YEARS OF MEMORIES - LITTLE ROYAL FAIR - October 18 20, 2019 - Walkerton Agricultural Society
President’s Message
Welcome to our 165th Walkerton Little Royal Fair. This year our theme is 165 Years
of Memories and it will be held on October 18th, 19th and 20th of 2019. We are
continuing to make changes and additions to our fair, and we hope you approve and
enjoy. There has been a lot of work behind the scenes and I need to thank each and
every one of our volunteers and members for all their hard work.
Our Ambassadors, Alex and Ashley, had a great time promoting agriculture in our
community this year and wish to extend the opportunity for other young members to
follow in their footsteps. Good Luck to this year’s applicants.
This year we are proud to announce that Family Time Amusements will be hosting a
midway to entertain our families. We are also proud of a new feature with
“Touch a Tractor” beside the midway and we will feature the Miniature Chuck
Wagon Races. We will also have the Kinsmen Wing Night on friday night along with
the Team Penning. While we are speaking about food, remember our famous Roast
Beef Dinner on Saturday Night and Sunday Morning Breakfast. They are feasts to
enjoy. This year our Field to Fork program is expanding with more
educational displays on what happens on the farm and of course, we will have our
Horse Shows, Saddle Shows, Kids Tractor Pull and Pet Show. There will be
something to see for all ages. See you at the Fair!
President Mike Dupuis - Walkerton Agricultural Society

                      Home Craft President’s Message
Welcome to the 2019 edition of the Walkerton Little Royal Fair. This year, our fair
theme, “165 Years of Memories” is paying tribute to our past, celebrating our
longevity, with dreams of many years to come. As home craft president, I would like
to say thank you to all the committee chairs and members that have been hard at work
preparing for the fair.
While at the fair, be sure to check out the home craft exhibits in building #3. As you
walk in the door, your mouth will water when you see all the breads, cakes, cookies,
squares, tarts and pies in the Baking Class, jams, fruit, pickles and relishes in Canned
Fruits and Vegetables Class. Think of how your home décor could be enhanced with
potted plants, cut flowers and floral arrangements and items from the Arts and Crafts
Class. Come marvel at the handy work of our exhibitors in the Sewing, Knitting and
Crochet Classes. For you collectors in the crowd, check out the Antiques Class. Bring
your children to see how they did in the School Section and don’t forget to smile, as
you never know when you could appear in a prize winning photo in the Photography
Class.
This October 18th-20th, I invite you to come and celebrate "165 Years of Memories!"
See you at the fair!

Alex Oestreicher
                       2018 - 2019 Senior Ambassador
Hello! Welcome to the 2019 Little Royal Fair. Over the last year,
I have had the pleasure of representing the Agricultural Society.
This opportunity has brought me many new experiences, new
friendships, life skills and a greater understanding for agriculture.
Some of my favourite experiences include; experiencing the fair in
a new way by doing things like judging the pet show and riding
the horses. I participated in the Santa Claus Parade, attended
annual meetings where I learned to line dance, volunteer and
speak at Roots of Bruce and the OAAS Convention, where I met
many new friends. From the very beginning of my
ambassadorship, I was learning life skills. Skills like the
interview process, networking, public speaking, how to use
technology and communication skills are just the tip of the iceberg this past year has
taught me. I would strongly recommend the program to anyone if you have the
opportunity. Take it! At the beginning of this year, I had little knowledge about
agriculture. This worried me as this was what I was representing. However, I have
learned so much and gained an appreciation I otherwise would not have. I have also
gained an appreciation for the fair itself. While the Walkerton Fair has always been
something I look forward to attending, I was not aware of how much work truly goes into
such an amazing event. I am very thankful for all that this opportunity has
provided me with. I hope to see everyone around the fair, learning, laughing and
enjoying themselves.

                      2018 - 2019 Junior Ambassador
Hello everyone! Welcome to the 2019 Walkerton Little Royal
Fair. I had the honor of being the 2018 - 2019 Junior
                          Ambassador.
Last October, I spent the entire weekend at the Little Royal Fair
doing so many different activities. Some of my favorite activities
included judging the pet show, putting ribbons on horses, the
bouncy castles, the field to fork display and all the delicious
meals put on by the Agricultural Society. Later in the fall, I
attended the District 10 Meeting in Lucknow. During the time I
was there, I learned how to line dance, set goals and how to keep
them. I met many other ambassadors and made new friends.
One of my favorite things about being the ambassador was riding
on the Santa Claus Parade float and seeing how excited the children were to see me.
Venturing outside my comfort zone has been well worth the rewards. I would like to thank
Barb Ernest, Gail & Mike Dupuis and the whole agricultural society for making this year
an amazing and fun filled adventure. I wish the best of luck to this year’s ambassadors. I
hope to see everyone out and enjoying themselves at the 2019 Little Royal Fair.
