LAS works hard to ensure that an appropriate match is made to ensure an animal meets its new family’s lifestyle. As part of our adoption program, we require a potential owner to complete an adoption application and interview with our adoption counselor. During the interview, potential owners are educated on the proper care of the new pet, common problems that may arise, and what responsibilities they have as a pet owner. The cost of adopting an animal is $30 and includes age appropriate shots (FVRCP for cats, parvo, distemper, bordatella for dogs), as well as rabies vaccination and licensing. Also included in the cost is the implantation of a microchip and spay/neuter voucher for the animal (covers all cost for most local veterinarians). Staff and volunteers of the City of Lubbock Animal Services offer off-site adoptions of dogs and cats at various locations including PetPlus once a month. Volunteer Orientation is held on the 1st and 3rd Tuesday of every month for those interested. SPAY/NEUTER VOUCHERS You love your pet and so do we! Did you know the City of Lubbock Animal Services has a program to assist some residents (based on a sliding income scale) with spay/neuter costs? If you or someone you know is interested in information on spay/neuter vouchers, please call Animal Services at (806) 775-2057. 6 * OnLIne ReGIstRAtIOn AVAILABLe
