Follow us and join the conversation about the EADV Paris Congress using #EADVparis NOTE TO HEALTHCARE PROFESSIONALS AND NON-HEALTHCARE PROFESSIONALS Article 86 in the EU directive 2001/83/EC lists the prohibition of advertising and promotion of prescription-only medicines to the gen- eral public. These legal provisions are included in the country codes of conduct and guidelines for the promotion of medicines and we therefore inform you that French laws, codes and regulations will be in full force and effect during the 27th EADV Congress in Paris. Dispositions Deontologiques Professionnelle – Applicables aux Entreprises du Médicament Adhérentes du Leem http://www.leem.org/article/dispositions-deontologiques-professionnelles The French Public Health Code (Code de la Santé Publique) https://www.legifrance.gouv.fr/affichCode.do?cidTexte=LEGITEXT000006072665&dateTexte=20171215 European Federation of Pharmaceutical Industries and Associations (EFPIA) http://apps.who.int/medicinedocs/en/d/Js22330en/ The European Accreditation Council for CME (EACCME) https://www.uems.eu/areas-of-expertise/cme-cpd/eaccme International Federation of Pharmaceutical Manufacturers and Associations (IFPMA) https://www.ifpma.org/resource-centre/ifpma-code-of-practice/ These codes prohibit the advertising of prescription-only medicines to the general public, therefore only Healthcare Professionals may be exposed to advertising for prescription-only products in Paris. The French Drug Safety Compliance Committee (CODEEM) defines “Healthcare Professionals” as: Any member of the medical, dental, pharmacy or nursing professions or any other person who in the course of his or her professional activities may prescribe, recommend, purchase, supply or administer a pharmaceutical product. As a multidisciplinary audience will be attending the Paris Congress, the EADV will assign different badges to Healthcare Professionals (HCPs) and Non-Healthcare Professionals (NON-HCPs) to ensure compliance with the above regulations. During the registration process, you will be asked to indicate whether you are a “Healthcare Professional” or not. Depending on the status you have indicated on your registration form, you will receive either a “Healthcare Professional (HCP)” or “Non-Healthcare Pro- fessional (NON-HCPs)” badge on your arrival to the venue. Access to any industry sessions where data or research of prescription medicines is presented will be limited exclusively to Healthcare Professionals (HCPs) only. 7
