GINOS Acting Workshops 2018 GINOS Department of Global Innovation Studies (GINOS) GINOS’ goal is to generate global, entrepreneurial-minded students. To be integrated into the global community, students need to develop skills that enable them to see the world through complementary lenses, including culture, society, economics, history, and environmental studies. GINOS educates students to acquire the ability to take actions to deal with global issues while understanding and respecting the multiplicity of contexts and stakeholder backgrounds. Our program is based on three inter-linked concepts: an envisioned “Travel”, “Play” and “Dialogue” education. | Travel |Thirty percent of our students are non-Japanese, while Japanese students are required to take part in a study-abroad program. In addition, various short-term international entrepreneurship and innovation related journeys are provided. | Play | To enhance creativity for context understanding and issue resolution, various initiatives are provided to the students such as acting workshops; practical English-enhancing simulation trainings, ranging from global dispute settlement to international business negotiation skills; and workshops led and designed by students. | Dialogue | It is expected that our students shall develop an interest in various subjects on a global- ized context, and acquire the ability to take action to deal with global issues. We emphasize developing their communication and academic skills in the fields of international business, collaboration, and entrepreneurship.
CREATOYO 2019` CREATOYO is a biennial one-week interactive training aimed at ap- prehending creativity through a variety of contexts and experiences. The program is organized by the Department of Global Innovation Studies (GINOS), Toyo University, Japan, in collaboration with MO- SAIC, the creativity and innovation hub from HEC Montreal, Canada and BETA from Strasbourg University. During the week-long pro- gram, a blend of lectures, exhibitions, round-tables, workshops and visits of creative spaces will enable the participants to gain a better grasp of what is creativity and how Tokyo, and Japan more gener- ally, are crafting and nurturing their creative ecosystems. Based on the three concepts of “Travel”, “Play” and “Dialogue”, we intend to expend the network of the participants, favor interactions and gen- erate opportunities for both theoretical and case-driven dialogues around creativity. By mixing domestic and international business leaders, civil servants, academics, creative operators and students, the program intends to create an interactive event where we mix and remix creative ideas and concepts.
