DAILY ITINERARY 2021 TODAY'S RIDE: Day Snow Cany on State Park Loop Approximately 17 miles with 1,400 feet of climbing 1 DESCRIPTION: Once everyone has gathered, your group will shuttle 15 minutes to Snow Canyon State Park. Here you will enjoy a picnic lunch prepared by your Trek Travel guides. They will then lead a short round of introductions before discussing bike safety and offering some specific cycling tips for riding during your Zion National Park bike tour. Your guides will ensure you a comfortable fit to your bike and familiarize you with some of its features. Then, the road awaits! Pedal past red sandstone canyons that were once home to the Anasazi and Paiute Indians, and were the set for classic movies such as Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid. After your ride, your group will shuttle one hour to our hotel, Flanigan’s Inn. This evening, you and your new travel companions will meet for a drink by the Virgin River before sitting down to a delicious dinner in the lively desert town of Springdale. TODAY'S ACTIVITY: Day Hike in or around Zion National Park Virgin River Narrows, or a variety of other options 2 DESCRIPTION: Hiking offers an intimate way to enjoy Zion through its diverse and expansive trail system, and today is your opportunity to hike the fabled Virgin River Narrows (water level permitting). If you elect to hike the Narrows, Trek Travel will provide a rental package that includes specially designed water shoes and information for your hike. This afternoon, opt to explore more of the park on one of many breathtaking trails that await, such as Watchman Trail, Lower and Upper Emerald Pools, or Sandbench Trail. Whatever you decide, the choice is yours and your guides will be on-hand to help you plan how to best spend your day and to provide lunch on the trail. This evening, Springdale’s restaurants are yours to explore for dinner. You will begin today's journey pedaling east from the famous mile-long Zion Tunnel. Ride along a red ribbon of road that traces the path of ancient rock formations, underneath piñon and ponderosa pines, in and out of petrified sand dunes, and past the Checkerboard Mesa. You will leave the park for a short while to enjoy a delicious farm-to-table breakfast at Cordwood. Once you’ve explored the farm a bit, you’ll hop back on your bike and ride towards Zion Tunnel once more. Choose to add on a few miles after a short shuttle and descend sweeping switchbacks to the floor of Zion Canyon on your way to the hotel. This afternoon, you may choose to get back into the park on foot by taking advantage of one of the many hiking options. If you aren’t afraid of heights, we recommend the iconic Angel’s Landing, one of the most dramatic hikes you will ever do. Or you may decide to spend your time in the many art galleries and shops of Springdale or simply relax poolside. You’ll spend your final evening together reminiscing over the weekend’s adventures at the Bit and Spur restaurant. Challenge your guides to a game of pool over margaritas before a great Mexican dinner at this Springdale mainstay and local's favorite.
