After a traumatic year that included a global pandemic and a reckoning with systemic racism, experts in Colorado expect to see an increase in the number of Coloradans in need of mental health treatment. “The coronavirus crisis has brought with it all kinds of grief, loneliness, disengagement, and stress that have disrupted the lives of Coloradans,” says Vincent Atchity, president, and CEO of Mental Health Colorado, a mental health advocacy group in Denver. “The challenges of this last year will likely continue to a ect us for some time to come.” Mental Health Resources Here

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recommends that anyone eligible to receive a COVID-19 vaccine should get it, as well as continue to follow safety precautions like wearing a mask, washing hands, and avoiding crowds. Come hear frequently asked questions (FAQs) about COVID-19 vaccines that people with disabilities should consider. This webinar will outline the CDC guidelines, as well as explore solutions to challenges people with disabilities may experience regarding accessing COVID-19 vaccines, like making an appointment for vaccination. They simply need to call the above number and indicate that they, or a loved one, need an in- home vaccination and provide the necessary information to the individual. STAY ENTERTAINED Wheelchair users can soon explore Staunton State Park trails using “track chairs” The chairs have treads to navigate trail surfaces and can be reserved online. The program is set to resume June 4, with chairs provided by the park’s volunteer partner, Friends of Staunton. The park is located 6 miles south of Conifer via U.S. 285. Read more Daily news
