Year 7 French Lessons and Work Booklet Term 2b Instructions: • Please complete 2 lessons (approx. 4 slides of work) per lesson as shown on each slide as well as the tasks that follow. • Please write answers on paper or submit via Teams - Assignments (this booklet is also on Teams electronically). • Keep your answers safe to be able to bring back to school once completed, if done on paper. • STAY SAFE ! • COWLEY INTERNATIONAL COLLEGE
Lesson 1: Bon Appetit 1! Objectif: To be able to talk about food. Pour Réussir: • Grade 1: I will be able to say food that I eat. • Grade 1: I will be able to understand and use the verb ‘to eat’. Pour Commencer: • Retrieval activity on next page.
Retrieval Activity: Look at the topic title on the board and choose a settler starter to complete. List 5 things that the French do List 5 countries in French. List 5 French foods. at Christmas. Task: Read through the work in the green box above and copy the notes. Write 1-10 and match up the French words to the images a-n. Write the English meaning too for later use. Practise saying the words aloud.
Task: Say what you eat and what you do not eat, write a sentence for each image: Use: Je mange = l eat……. Je ne mange pas = I do not eat…….
Task: • Read the green box on the right carefully and make notes on the verb AIMER. • Then, copy out a-g, pick the correct word from the choices and translate the sentences into English.
Task: • Fill in the missing words for ‘some’: Task: 1. Read the text and find the French for the English a-i. 2. Translate the paragraph into English.

Task: 1. Read the menu and match up to the 3 images on the right.
Task: 1. Read the questions on the left first. 2. Now read the answers on the right and match them up. Make sure that you write them out in full, not just the letters and the numbers, as you will need the words/phrases later.
Task: • Imagine that you are in a café. • Use the phrases from the last slide/page in order to create your own conversation in a café where you order food and drinks. • Start with Bonjour and end with Au revoir. • Record your voice saying these sentences with a friend (remotely if you can) or a family member. You can do this on your phone, as a video or using the website VOCAROO. https://vocaroo.com/
Lesson 8: Au Restaurant- Eating out. Objectif: To be able to order a meal in a restaurant. Pour Réussir: • Grade 1-2: I will be able learn some new phrases to order in a restaurant and use longer segments of speech. Pour Commencer: • Retrieval activity on next page.
