ON-SITE ACTIVITIES ICE SKATING Enjoy gliding across the ice while taking in the views of the Bow Valley. Our skating rinks are located at Spray Meadows, opposite to our warm and cozy Waldhaus Restaurant and Pub and on the Vermillion ice rink located on the Lower Bow Valley Terrace. Ice skates may be rented from Chateau Mountain Sports, located on the main level of the Conference Centre. The ice skating rink is opened based on weather conditions. ON-SITE ACTIVITIES CURLING Every wanted to try one of Canadian’s favourite pass-times, stop by the Vermillion Curling Rink to try you hand at sliding the stones on a sheet of ice towards a target area which is segmented into four concentric circles. BAVARIAN CURLING Come and enjoy a try at Bavarian Curling on our Vermillion Curling Rink. Bavarian Curling is a winter sport, somewhat similar to curling. In German, it is known as Eisstockschießen. Competitors slide ice stocks over an ice surface, aiming for a target, or to cover the longest distance. Ice stocks have a gliding surface, to which a stick (ca 30 cm) is attached. CROSS COUNTRY SKIING Breathe in the fresh outdoors on the “Spray River Trail” or ask the Concierge for trail suggestions in the Banff area. Cross Country skiing provides a challenging and refreshing experience. Equipment rental is available at Chateau Mountain Sports located on the Main level of the Conference Centre.
