WII Overview Research Summit Education Women’s Impact Initiative Support and Awareness Guidance

Program Overview • In the past ten years, the number of female fundraisers has grown within AFP and the sector by three percent, making our membership over 70 percent female. • 4 out of 5 senior fundraising positions are held by males • Nonprofit boards are comprised of males over the age of 50
Program Overview • A virtual and measurable 10 month structured mentoring program • January – October 2019 • Five mentees selected for pilot
Program Overview Leadership Development • Specialized leadership training webinars curated for mentees • Creating a leadership plan with your mentor • Access to AFP educational programing • Executive coaching session for each mentee Support and Guidance • A dedicated mentor to help you develop a leadership plan and guide you through achieving the goals • Program check-in with mentoring cohort • Access to the WII Support and Guidance workgroup
Program Overview Project • Can be related to a fundraising topic or to how the Women’s Impact Initiative resources and programs have impacted your career • Ideas for a project include: • Publish article related to the fundraising topic or WII program • Create a video • Develop a program at your local chapter • Present on a fundraising topic or WII program at the local or national level Lilly Family School of Philanthropy • Can be related to a fundraising topic or to how the Women’s Impact Initiative resources and programs have impacted your career
Program Criteria Mentee Criteria • Must have at least 3 years of experience in the fundraising profession • Able to commit to the full 10-month relationship • Complete the application process: application and recommendation • Allow application information to be shared with the Mentorship Committee (all information will be kept in the strictest confidence) • Agree to attend the WII Mentoring & Development Program Virtual Kick-Off in January 2019 (date to be confirmed) • Participate in at least five (5) meetings with my mentor during the 10-month program • Complete a project and share outcomes • Complete all session or program evaluations as requested
Program Criteria What Mentees Gain • Complimentary AFP membership for one year • $500 education credit to any AFP educational offering (online or onsite) • One-hour coaching session with a certified executive coach • Complimentary registration to the 2019 Women’s Impact Summit • Waived CFRE exam fee, if you take the exam within two years of starting the program • Recognition at the International Fundraising Conference, Leadership Academy, and the Women’s Impact Summit • Mentors who are fundraising superstars that are committed to a mentee’s growth and development • Skills-based trainings and events curated specifically for the mentee’s leadership and fundraising growth
Program Criteria Mentor Criteria • Must have 15+ years of experience in the fundraising profession • Able to commit to the full 10-month relationship • Allow application information to be shared with the Mentorship Committee (all information will be kept in the strictest confidence) • Agree to attend the WII Mentoring & Development Program Virtual Kick-Off in January 2019 (date to be confirmed) • Participate in at least five (5) meetings with my mentee during the 10-month program • Complete all session or program evaluations as requested • Access to a diverse network and willing to make connections for mentee as needed • Sincere desire to build constructive and positive relationship between a mentor and a mentee • Sensitivity to people from varied backgrounds with compassion and understanding • Ability to draw examples from his or her own experience as a leader • Ability to mentor effectively online as needed
Program Criteria What Mentors Gain • Complimentary AFP membership for one year • Complimentary registration to the 2019 Women’s Impact Summit • The ability to ensure a more equitable and inclusive profession through the development of future leaders • Recognition at the International Fundraising Conference, Leadership Academy, and the Women’s Impact Summit • Skills-based trainings and events curated specifically for the experienced professional
