The Green Park Hotel Newsletter A César Award Winner Scottish Hotel of the Year Why the Mad Rush? H ere at the Green Park one of the first things you see on entering the hotel is our reservation diary. Covered in green baize with the year picked out in gold lettering, this weighty tome is lovingly nursed through it’s year of life by our reception team - along with the liberal use of extra strong sellotape. A tried and tested piece of methodology, it has seen us through many a busy reception shift. A man of many parts and places, Bert is currently the visiting speaker on Art History at Higham Hall in Cumbria. Bertramn Hero to the cause, Bert runs three art history breaks at the Green Park. Guests this year have been able to choose from ’The Art of the Eternal City’, ‘A Journey Aitchiso into Scottish Art’ and ‘Art in the Making’. Bert has a loyal band of followers from Dumfries, so be sure to book early to avoid disappointment. A lthough a smaller performance space was part of the theatres original 1970’s design of the new site at Port-na-Craig, financial restrictions meant this particular ambition could not be realised at the time. But the dream remained and the designated space was held (and used as a set store) until it became a reality. The Studio is a home for new expressive art. The space is atmospheric and intimate - so impressive, in fact, that those sitting in the front row will have their feet on the stage itself. © Pitlochry Festival Theatre OUR LATEST BUILDING WORKS M y dad John was a great one for his pet building projects, and we felt that it was high time we had another one on the go. The work you see in progress is a bolstering of our range and quality of staff accommodation. The most challenging aspect of the work is to not damage Diane’s treasured monkey tree. I have been informed that it’s demise would result in me becoming the new staff blocks first customer. PIT LOCHR Y ’S FAMIL Y- RUN LOCHSIDE LOCAT ION
